    Wowzie!
It hasn't been any less than -5 degrees celsius these past few years in Holland.. Must be pretty damn cold Flip!

Lots of warm wishes to you and others in that sort of cold ^^

It may be a McJob, but you aren't demonstrating the best work ethic by playing hookey. You might not want to be sharing this information here if you are wanting to impress future employers.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. This reminds me of driving 14 hours from lapland a few weeks ago.. It was about 7 am and I had just started driving when I notice it's -33C outside + a pretty insane wind. I had to just pull over and walk a while with only jeans and a hoodie on to try how cold it felt Didn't feel too tired after that I can tell you.

Flip, I just came back from Edmonton yesterdya. Way way way too cold. My girlfriend and I were almost too afraid of the cold to run from the hotel to the car, lol.

It's not much better up here in Calgary, though. Even bundled up in full winter gear, I felt like I was gonna freeze just taking out the garbage!!

The top photo was the view outside my window near Strathmore, AB this AM

The lower photo are sundogs for anyone who has never seen them.

Yes, the sun only gets this high in the winter, and yes, it's a dry cold!

You don't understand Seedling. Part of my day job is the role of being....the walking courier: pushing/pulling heavy boxes on a cart 6 blocks in total.

And....I can just overtime the rest of the week (to make up this day) when the forecast is a little bit more humane.

And...I'd rather draw than get my nuts frozen.

Back home in Regina it was an awesome -55.
I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit but its kinda cold I'd say. And
    I'm hardly ever cold.

Well, I guess I have to go to work today. I MUST! oUR fucking boiler at home has stopped working. What does that mean? Instant death.

If I freeze on the streets at least the snow plower driver would see me. I hope.

If it does look like you're going to freeze to death, try to do so in a comedy pose? Snow plow drivers are probably much more likely to notice someone who faced the great egress doing I'm a Little Teapot.

Geez, and here I thought -40 here in northern ontario is bad. But then again ith no large bodies of water nearby to even things out, you prarie boys always get the most fun of weather.

Even so, walking 20 minutes to school in -40? I don't care what goes on that day, it's cab or no school.

you sunofa..... last week the forecaster said, "the weather's getting nice, we're gonna have a high of low 30s (F) today with the sun out." Not too bad today, just a few degrees above 0 with the wind but last week with wind we were looking at -25 to -30. Fun stuff.

Well at least you guys have an excuse to stay INSIDE! I'm tired of always being bugged about going to the beach, and getting burnt in the sun... Not fun. The cold brings people closer together.

Note to any of my future employers that read this: If I have to model outside and its really cold, im not coming to work. Also, I quit because you're a terrible employer for having desks and workstations outside in such a cold climate.

well its ok anyways because even IF a future employer came here, they'd be all like "grumblegrumble why isn't this guy in yet hmmm here is this website he goes on alot he must have posted about not going to work! grumblegrumble wait what is all this art i OH MY GOD MY EYES I CAN'T TAKE THE BEAUTY I-------" and then it wouldn't even matter because we destroyed said future employer with our art beams.

so no worries flip, you're smooth sailing.

Global warming basically means all weather becomes more extreme, not just 'uniformly warmer'. So cold snaps are part of that pattern. Hell, if the atlantic conveyor stops or changes, the NE US and Europe will drop ten or twenty degrees overall, because of not getting warm gulf oceans nearby

Invest in woodstove companies and insulation manufacturers!

I'm pretty sure ADs are'nt trolling to forum to check whether or not FlipMcGee showed up for his job today. It'd be nice to be able to come on the forums without having someone jump in your ass and give you a holier than thou speech.
