    Question Which wacom is best?

    Hey,

I'm looking to buy a wacom,
In a shop not far from where i live, there's a special offer:
They sell wacom volito for a very cheap price (wacom stopped producing volito, thats probably why they're so cheap).
    Now is my question:
Is the volito a good tablet or should i wait and buy the bamboo. (i cant get higher than a bamboo because i got a low budget )
I saw there is a difference in size (2 cm) and a difference in resolution.
Is the volito worth buying (gonna use for drawing only)? Or should i go for the bamboo? (there's a difference of 40€)
Some help would be very much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

It is my experience when buying a product that is no longer in production I have regretted it. The price is right, but the support sucks, and I am usually unhappy and end up spending more money in the end.
Bambo looks like a good product, but you would be happier with the Intuos in the long run. Yes it is more money, but in the end you will probably spend more money because you will find your needs change.

It is like my gold fish theory. I start out with a little bowl and a couple of goldfish. Then I think I want more fish, so I go out and buy a bigger tank and more fish. Then I think, a bigger tank would be better because a bigger tank is easier to clean and I can have more fish. In the end I would have been better off spending the bucks for the larger tank and would not have a fish bowl and a little tank sitting in my garage gathering dust.

    Just my two cents.

This question is asked way too much and you can find the information in the support forum.

I know this question is asked hundreds of times across art related forums, I'll still give you an answer.

I have a volito2 and since its a wacom, you usually get what you expect. Wacom is a good and well known brand creating the best tablets world wide and so even their cheapest product - volito it has amazing quality.

I'd have to say that if you're a beginner, volito's your best choice even though its quite small. However, if you're going grand on active areas, don't start with an intuos unless you've got the budget and want a very good quality wacom, instead give a Genius a try: http://www.amazon.com/Genius-PenSket.../dp/B000COKZJK

    or

of course, if you want the best kind, get Wacom.

You also have to take consideration that this was asked in the Corel Painter forum. If you relate it to what's the best tablet to buy then I'd say wacom intuos because Painter has brush types that respond to tilt and rotation which many other tablets lack this feature.

And, a rather important point not to miss:

Rotation is only supported with the combination of a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet and Wacom 6D Art Pen.

    .
Please do not PM me with Painter questions. Instead, post them here where everyone can benefit from them. Thanks!

    Thanks for your advice,
ok, i think im going to buy a volito because of my low budget, and because im only a beginner. but first, i got 2 more questions:
-do i need USB 2.0? my computer is a bit aged and only has USB 1.
-I saw that the resolution is a lot lower than the bamboo's resolution. Isn't 1000 dpi a bit low to make drawings with?
    Thanks,

Totally agree. My Graphire was nice, but when I got the Intuos there was no comparison. Well worth the cost! :-)

Whoooa there, I have a feeling you're not going to go into the thousands in dpi. One because it takes up more space, and two because it's unnecessary to have that high of a resolution for a digital painting.

Edit: Sorry, didn't realize the age of this thread, forgive me for recovering it.

He might be getting resolution mixed up with 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. (Bamboo comes with 512 levels, I think.)
