Wow it has been a while seince i posted here. What a shame. Ive done alot so heres a big dump. Please forgive me for not having a website yet and still using image tag links

.... Major downfall to be doing on this website ive noticed.

Trying to use my knowledge from that to create a creature ... like 20-30 min sketch thing

The windy tree thing is going to be a series this is the windy willow

This peice took me 70 hours but it was worth every minute. Look how good it came out

I guess you could call this a speed paint character. It was about 5 hours of work. I tried starting from a black surface instead of a light like i usually do.

you're getting a lot better, critiques or not...some really nice scenes/imagination. The female sorceress a few posts up is prolly your best character so far (technically, at least).

I really like your ink work--cool stuff. If I could give you a tip on your pencils/sketches it would be to make them more like your inked stuff...go for line quality...smooth, NOT scratchy. never scratchy.
if you need to do a bunch of scratchy lines to get the form down, do that with a light pencil. AND THEN go over the forms again with a darker pencil, or even just more pressure, and smoooth all the lines out.

same goes for your painting...use some bigger brushes to avoid scratchy lines. Just suggest texture/leaves, unless they're really close.

Whatever you're drawing, try to give it a nice shape (ie. silhouette)
also, try going for more angles in your characters/creatures. Your concepts are nice, but a lot of your figures look kinda "bendy" for lack of a batter word...insert some bones, dood.

anyways...I'm definitely nitpicking here...but it sounds like you want some critiques more than anything, soo there ya are.

thanks oden yeah i would agree on the things like texture brushes. I was going to practice some exersises today to study just that but my ps wouldnt start up. Yeah i am very scratch at sketching for a while i wasnt but i havent been the best on continueing to do it. I need lots of more study with anatomy. Ill try and keep everything you have said in mind thanks for the comments and crits owen.

This was a creature that was in a book i was writing in highschool. Im going to look up the part i had written about the creature to put up on deviant ill try and post it in here as well. I stoped writing the book even though it had alot of great imaginitive and fantastical aspects. In my future i may consider reworking it ... i mean I typed up like 60 pages and i wrote more then 300 pages on top of that. It would be a shame to see all that work just disapear. Anyways here the creature.
