Hi!
The girl looks cool, but the torso and arms looks flat, and the clothes seems cut and paste because of the colors you chose and because is not affected by the surrounding lights.
The dragon pose it´s a little weird and have some anatomical issues, try to find on the internet some dinosaur illustrations or dinosaur skeletons and copy them,it will help you a lot!And play with perspectives, because this one looks very boring and no dinamic at all.
By the way, what is Vixen Tor Games?
Keep drawing!!!Cheers!
Thanks for the advice, yeah each of these pieces needs work. I never really payed attention to the pose of the Dragon, and now that I'm looking at it, it does seem a little off.
I'v never liked the armor on the female, but I've never been any good at armor, lol
Vixen Tor games is a small game company that makes Dice Towers (a device tht rolls dice for the player, so there isn't any suspicion of foul play) and a few other gaming utilities. You could always check out the site here, www.vixentorgames.com if you're curious.
Thanks,
CA
Moved from above:
Okay, I'm going to try this Sketchbook thing out. The images below are a few things that either have me stumped or that I've just paused work on.
Thanks for viewing,
Diana for a Vixen Tor tower (Gen Con 2007 Exclusive).
This is just me playing around trying to learn more about light and depth. He had arms and chest detail but I dropped it due to the fact it looked like poo. Now, I have no idea where to go with it.
Another piece of art for Vixen Tor games, a Wyvern for a Dice Tower. I want to improve on it from this finished piece but I just have no idea where to start.
And a Halo 3 Armor Concept
Thanks for looking,

Another unfinished addition to this thread but oh well. This started out as an Earth Golem bu slowly after a few frustrations turned into this. I'm not sure where to go from here, so I'll just put it away for a while.

This is an attempt to leave my comfort zone and experiment with light a little. She's not done, though,

The first one is excellent but it strikes me as very odd considering some of the errors in the other works you've posted here. Maybe it's because you obviously used a reference, if that's the case and the others are unreferenced then keep using them when you can for practice. The one you posed in #4 is also great so I guess the first isn't the only one!
The suit design on Samus is cool, your workflow is completely counter to what I do. The biggest issues I have with your last one: most of all remember there is a human body inside of the suit. For example the arm which is stretched out does not look well connected through the shoulder joint. I know the game designed suit is with huge shoulders but I've always looked at it and wondered the same as I said above.
Also elements like the helmet and her glove are too small - they are at the correct proportion for a human body but not with armor on top if that makes sense. I hope this helps, keep posting and practicing, you obviously have talent.

Hey dude.
Got an interesting variety of work here.
Would like to see some observational drawings.
Cheers.
I like the last devil painting, because he has a nice sketchy, unrefined, unfinished quality...

I looked at yours, now you look at mine...sketchbook here

Hye!
I think your "Earth Golem" is your best work in this thread. It has a great 'field of depth'. The beard is sharp and the jacket is a little blurry. Maybe you could even improve this 'cause it will give your painting a lot of depth and feeling.
Keep it up!![]()
Hey cupid, thanks for stopping at my sketchbook and leaving a note! I think the "earth golem" is probably the best of the whole lot so far. I really like it, it's got nice mood lighting and the features are nice and all. Only thing maybe I feel is out of sorts is the neck looks a bit thin. I think just a weeeeeee bit of suggestion of a background instead of just a flat color, just some shapes that suggests there is something, will be pretty awesome!
Thanks again for leaving a note!
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I'll be working on him tomorrow as well as some still life work,
Thanks again.
Love that Indian/Tiger piece, CA.
Noticed you changed the angle of the warrior's face in the inked piece.
Great choice.
Keep up the very cool work.
L_U_S.
Yeah I changed the angle of the face because it seemed so flat. I think it really gave life to the whole piece just by changing that head.
This is the proof I just sent off to the customer that this art was for.

I made some of the suggested adjustments to my Darkness portrait, I think I'm going to step away from it for now though,
