Very Nice stuff, I like this last pages.
Queen Gohma turned out quite nice jasper! can't really crit on anything with someone whose way above my level but i really dig your edge work. at first i thought that was Shuma Gorath (marvel) but had to inspect closer... and actually read the post haha. i'm pleased to know that you and jai are planning a livestream. i will definitely keep it on my bookmarks once it's up and running! just... don't forget to enable video on demand, yes? haha

art is never finished, only abandoned~Leonardo da Vinci
Great sketchbook dude! Love your concepts
Btw, why did u leave art school?
Aaawesome but yeah like Chaostheory said, why'd ya leave art school? Wasn't it what you were looking for?
Great work as always
I love these peeps.
dlincoln83 Thanks!
ezekrialase Thank you!
ChaosTheory Thanks man!
Ludic Thanks bro!
In response to Ludic and ChaosTheory, and anyone else curious:
I left art school because I felt like I wasn't getting enough out of it to justify the ridiculous amount of money I was putting into it. That's probably the shortest answer I've given on the topic, but it pretty much sums everything up haha. I needed to change things and try something different. If Jai and I can get this livestream going I'll more than happy to discuss it a bit more.
Anyway, here's my newest personal piece. Spent more time than I wanted to on it, so hopefully the next few will come out quicker. It's the second boss in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. King Dodongo!

Fucking sexy, I feel your sentiments on leaving art school, its why I left where I was. You need returns if you're gonna shovel out shit tons of dollars.
Seeing your improvement over such a short period of time is inspiring! Keep it up, man!
Goddam those textures are hot. The colors are really gorgeous too. Maybe his mouth needs some drool? ;P Awesome work.
"I left art school because I felt like I wasn't getting enough out of it to justify the ridiculous amount of money I was putting into it"
i have read to much of this on this site and in basicly every art related comunity,so once i graduate and not gonna go to college.
just for it man! amazing stuff!good luck!
Cool one jasper, great textures again.
I've been replaying Zelda OOT on my gamecube this week, so these drawings are great : )
Really phenomenal sketchbook. I've been enjoying seeing your WIPs (and the final products as well--that goes without saying). The way you render textures is really excellent--I was surprised when you said a few pages back that you don't use photo textures, only overlapping brushes. Any chance you could elaborate on that? I'd love to be able to bring more texture into my own work (and the sharpness in your rendering is great, too!)
As far as critiques go (I feel almost wrong critiquing someone so much more skilled than myself, but that's what these forums are for, yeah?), I'd say that King Dodongo up there needs some kind of foreground element--the rocks and lava cracks are marvelous, but adding something closer in the foreground would help to push the depth and establish a sense of scale for the creature. Other than that it's great.
Anyway, sorry for the super-long post. Loving the sketchbook and looking forward to more.![]()
You always have such great texture to your work that last one is mental. Though the mouth seems too overpowering to me and the bottom jaw looks a bit out of whack
wow man love this series your doing good luck with not going to school anymore hope everything goes well
Hey everyone! Low on time here, so I can't get to replies, but for anyone interested, here's a tutorial on King Dodongo!!

Thanks a ton for the tutorial, man. You really make it look easy.
It's true that Color Burn and Color Dodge are somewhat underused--I've never really found a use for them in my own work, but you've convinced me to start experimenting with them more.
On a side note, do you download most of your texture brushes or make your own from scratch with the dual brush and/or texture settings?
You, sir, are fucking awesome![]()
Hey man I really appreciate the tutorial I asked about. Really amazing work :]
