Thank you Hans!
Finally finished my 1st charcoal cast!
Took somewhere between 50 and 70 hours. The medium is Nitram charcoal, kneaded eraser, brushes, stomps, etc. on paper.

Here's a new work. This is the cover illustration for my book Das Blut der Götter, which has been published in Germany by ZPV
How it looks as a book cover:
Inhalt:

a modern Salome, maybe I'll finish it someday. It was an experiment to see what I could do from imagination (that means painting without any reference)

Great sb, and thanks for sharing your knowledge as you learn. It motivates, me in particular to focus on stuff I really know nothing of. Great tutorial up there.

Awesome work you have going here. You're really making leaps and bounds in your own paintings and it's obvious that your bargue works are really paying off.
Keep up the fantastic work! Those two new speedpaints are really nice. I really like the tones in the first one.
I like the last figure, good detail put on the feet.

love the colours in those last ones!
your work is really nice overall, if you would like some ideas on things to work on I would say first to broaden your range of master copies. You do a lot of Renaissance painters like Leonardo but I think it could only help to look at more contemporary artists such as Sargent, Zorn, Bouguereau, Gerome, etc. In my opinion the Renaissance painters were excessively curvilinear. Another thing I think would help would be to do some exercises where you can't make a curved line. You'll find that you can make the illusion of a curve by several straight lines which then hold up more form when you go in to refine the drawing. Bargue is a master of that. All of his lines are straight or have a VERY subtle bend to them, and he captures form brilliantly! good examples of that are in the more preliminary plates of the Bargue course when he sets up a drawing. Keep up the good work!![]()
