Yeah... but it just doesn't look real enough...
    Got any suggestions?

Most browsers can't display bmps. Save it as a jpeg.

Mmhh I can see it and it doesn't look real.... because it's anime?

I mean, it's a nice pic, I like the faces and colours (especially if this is only your second try with a tablet, wow) but if you wish to go for a realistic feeling that's not the style for you to go!

Really? Ok, it's a thing of definition then, I wouldn't have considered this piece Anime.

Well in that case I think the most prominent thing for you to look at are your shading and the use of black outlines.

Artgerm's piece (the one in your link) could stand alone without lines (it does have outlines, but they are very subtle), because the shading of the skin defines the curves.

Your girls are very pale and nearly not shaded at all. The hair looks very stylized, too. (especially the blue haired one)

If you want to go for more realism, refine the shading of their skin, no cell shading but real smooth shading. Add dark spots where the light nearly doesn't hit at all and more colours than just a lighter and darker tone of the same colour. (rosy cheeks,..)

As you are familiar with DA, you can search for hair tutorials there.

I found two who explain the semi-realistic style you are looking for:

    and
    http://dianae.deviantart.com/art/Hai...orial-48064074

Very different ways to get to the result, so you can decide what's easier for you.

    Have fun!
