Hello Ladies and Gents,
Okay, looks like having a sketchbook thread is pretty fun, heres something I did last year....
Hey, nice character design! Clear lines with different weight, certainly talent hereI was a little confused initially though, didn't figure out what exactly was going on in your picture, but it's a fun illustration nonetheless. Keep posting!

"assiduus usus uni rei deditus et ingenium et artem saepe vincit" - cicero
hah, I think that's a great start, very interesting...
Here are some more sketches I did sometime last year...I am working on some new ones, but since my job requires me to draw insanely everyday, I really have to rest my drawing arm at night...btw, what I draw at work isn't as much fun compared to drawing babes and critters. Will post some new ones soon!
Just a quick fun sketch ...hope everyone has a meaningful christmas!
just a quick sketch this time...around 30 minutes ...I still suck at using a wacom pen....bear with me...
You definitely know how to draw. Kudos cause your stuff looks great. The Violet in the Troll pic is really throwing everything off though.
Keep posting. I'd love to see more creative robots....for some reason I think you do crazy robots.
later
I really like your style. Very confident and entertaining.
What do you draw at work, if I may ask?
Ped 454....lol...I really suck at anything that requires a clean line and lots of perspective...but I'll try to do some robots soon...just for yah!
ARTHE XAVIER..I am a designer and am always busy making chinese factories rich! too bad they wont give any foreign designer royalties..unless youre white..which sucks for us non-caucasians..
anyway..being from the pencil and paper generation, I wanted to play around some more with this wacom thing...heres some sketches I came up with..
any advise on how to improve my strokes on this thing?(wacom)
NOTE: All my digi sketches will be posted here cause I dont wanna bother people with my crappy attempts too much. These are just "sketches" I make myself do to familiarize myself with the things I need to improve.

Love your face studies, definetly and area I'm trying to improve on right now, thanks for sharing!
Heres one more that i also posted in another thread here..wish I could have done better but my drawing arm is about to fall off...I really need to work on those fleshtones..among other things...
Wow, awesome work in here, your photo based drawings are fantastic, your pencilmanship (?) is great, I can see your colouring still needs some work but its also clear you will get there soon enough!
You might, for a more natural, real brush stroke effect, use a hard edged brush with less blending, Also you might want to work on getting some more hard edges in your coloured work. Keep studying and drawing from yer head. Cya around.
hi jpc
saw yr art...real nicely done . specially the girl is damn sexy but u got really good skill there.
Cool stuff! Digging what you got here in this thread!![]()
Thank you everyone for your replies, it just inspires me more to improve and hopefully to suck less at this![]()
anyway, while I'm practicing on digi stuff, I promised myself not to ignore pencils.
So this part of my SB is for pencil works only.
Here's the first...( crits are welcome of course)

Hey, you're a photoshop user I presume.
If you want to make your own brushes go into window-brushes and play around with them. for good painting I usually use a very hard airbrush that I customized to work with the pressure. Ideally something that changes opacity with pressure works well.
When you paint I find it works really well if you have a basic lineart underneath before one starts to colour in. When colouring it works well when you start blocking off areas of shade @ 70% opacity and work your way up. Eveltually eliminating the lineart alltogether.
But yeah, spazazo was right when he said hard brush. They work well in what you're trying to achieve. see ya
Ped454...Thanks for the tip man! yeah, I am primarily teaching myself photoshop...
I took Spazazo's advice and am currently experimenting with hard brushes and not relying on blending too much, its an improvement but I still need to practice some more before I post any more colored stuff...

Here's my sketch for today...I still have a long way to go before I get where I want to be...
Hi Guys, I am still practicing my drawing and colors, but I just had to "release" some doodle "cravings" today. Drawing should be fun after all..![]()

It is slowly dawning on me that I suck at this art thing..
but I'm too stubborn to let that stop me..
maybe one day I will actually be a decent artist, just gotta keep
drawing I guess...
P.S. I used to be better than this...but after 5 years of not drawing
human figures and just doing toys...it's too depressing...
Hey JPC
thanks for the comment
your girls are AWESOME! I love them.
Keep up!

Your pictures are great.. i cant see one thing wrong ! just keep'em coming and ill keep on watching

Try not to do any more digital painting with a soft blurry brush like you've been using. I think it's been making it a lot harder for you to get the forms you want. It might be helpful for you to start off doing some paintings with reference, or even using a master painting as your source. It'll definitely help you improve.
...the call of soft blending brushes is too hard to resist....
must...use..hard..brushes..![]()
seriously, just wanted to practice painting and Santa was the first thing that
popped up in my head. no sketch, no reference. which is why this isn't that good.
Thanks for stopping by my SB.
Damn man, your pencils skills are insane. And your color stuff is fast improving. The color Santa shows a huge improvement. Keep it up!
BTW, super hot ladies in here.
If you aren't your harshest critic you're doing it wrong
