Creusa: Thanks, always happy to have people following along .

Here's a jeans study, stemming from the fact that if I need to master clothing I should probably start from the most commonly worn article ever.

A composition study thing for a painting I'm thinking of doing based on this cute young adult book about ponies and knitting. I think I still need to add something to the left. In case it's not clear the pony is acting as muse or kind of an inspiration.

    Great work Suncut.
I really like that self portrait on the last page. Really subtle, but vibrant feeling skin tones. I love it.

    Elz: thanks .
    e-nat: thanks
purplegoat: Thanks, painting from life is awesome, but requires so much prep work! I'm planning to get a few actual oils of snowy landscapes this winter once the weather turns.
PHATandy: Thanks, that means a lot to me since I love your stuff!

This one is finally possibly done. Maybe.

Love the old witch stirring her cauldron; it has a really nice sense of depth, beautiful color palette, and the rendering of the face is really nice - detailed but still painterly. For crits, her hands feel a little unfinished, and the arms are very small compared to the rest of the body, especially the head.

Dierat: Thanks for the comment, you're totally right about the arms. I think I have this problem of having proportions okaysh when I start, but once I redraw parts with reference they sneakily get out of whack. I made the arms somewhat bigger, but wanted to keep somewhat dwarfish proportions.

Some progress on current work as well.

I just love the sunlight/shadow colours on that white dragon? piece, immediataly caught my eye. It's really shows how well placed colours can have effect even if there's not that much going on in the painting otherwise. : ) Those two witched are adorable, I really like your style on them. Keep studying, I need to catch some of that spirit..!

I need more portrait practice. I bought some cheap clay thing and started sculpting heads, I like doing the studying with my hands. I didn't remember how much I liked handling clay, I already ran out of it.

A lot of varied studies, Nice!

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...&postcount=199 - The Girl with Fire, I like. But then I like all your moody colours, even in the studies.

I like your stories, as I do with a lot of conceptart patrons.
There's many more but, unfortunately, I haven't had time to run across them.

And I reckon keep doing those thumbnails/composition. They come in handy, at least for me.

    Keep it creative and inspired!
