Vampire alpaca!??

..And how does it even relate to Can-can ( why were you listening to can-can in the first place? ). Love the alpaca. This image strikes a personal note, since I was once chased by one when I was 5. Those things will spit the hell out of you ( and scratch your car)

ArtZealot: Thank you! It's a bit looser than what I usually do and it felt great to keep it loose and painterly that way. Must do more!

I have a quick b/w study for my Alice and the Caterpillar piece. I think I will change the angle of the caterpillar so he is higher up and looking down. Also need to design some nice mushrooms and a hookah and decide what to do with the background!

BohemianChaos: Thanks a lot! I paint rather fast when I am in the mood(although I'm not sure if that's a good thing? Need to think/see more and paint less, hahah) but sometimes I can drag on for EVER. I have serious focusing issues lately. But like Bobby Chiu says, I will punch it in the face!

andres333: Thanks! I'm pleased with it, seeing how it was my first caricature ever. I do need to look at exaggerating features better though.

Here's another small update, I changed the positions and the mushrooms a bit, it still needs a LOT of work though.

Didn't have too much time today, just tried out some bg stuff. I did a sketch in my little sketchbook today and I have a slightly clearer idea about the final composition, I promise to have it up here tomorrow!

I was just going to say that I liked the fist value study better, but now with the third it's looking like it's back with even more details. Be careful with the shiny worm bits, they are getting a bit lost in the values ( Those parts looked best on the first study IMHO)

Shamagim: Thanks! I tried bringing the contrast in that area back, but I'll keep it in mind when I paint too. It was bugging me too and I'm glad you pointed it out.

I have some new linework , or something that tries to pass off for it. It's rough but atleast it shows the layout of the forms. In the previous sketch I didn't really like how the top and bottom mushroom bits were the same size so I tried to vary it. Also I have been looking at Mad Hatter cakes (mmmmmmmm) and I thought it would be nice to add some of that topsy turvyness into the image, make it more whimsical (or well, off balance)
