such high quality output! I'm really amazed and inspired, it seems you are really hard working with a twisted mind, great talent, skill and a pretty unique style. I'm totally envious

    DanielC: Merci beaucoup!

Metal Fingers: Thanks a lot! Here's some more of him.

dleoblack: Thank you so much! That comment made my day! I was trying very hard for a classical portrait for the last one and I'm happy some of that is showing (Is it the dull background? hehe)

saa: Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to MADE so much, would be awesome to sketch together! Are you at the HoG?

Solaris20 : Thank you very much!

Onisan: Thank you so much. I'm trying to be a productive, need to finish off the portfolio soon and apply for work >.>

shyamshriram: Thanks Mr NRI How are things in S'pore?

veterinarianz: Thank you! Sigh, I wanted to be a vet so bad

theUNKNOWNsketcher: Thank you! Alice does, one of my most favorite stories ever I need to make some more art based on the story.

    ankitm: Thanks a lot!

thirdeye:Yea, that composition is so bleh. I was really in love with the whole 'over-underwater' photography style, it doesn't work too well in this piece though. I'll sketch out some new poses soon ( or perhaps just try to salvage this one, any tips are most welcome!).

Update on the alien-noble-portrait. That rimlight needs to bleed over on the horns more:

cool new stuff. For the second sketch, I prefer the blue version. Very nice warm/cold relationships.

HoG it is. Just had a look at the timetable, I have no idea which stages I am going to choose, I wish it would last longer Looking forward to it a lot!

saa: Thanks! I actually started with the "final" a little while ago already.
The curriculum made me so giddy with joy! I don't know how I will choose between the stages either, such a tough choice. I need to stop daydreaming about the symposium and finish off portfolio pieces :/

Here's an update. Need to make the tree part more muscular, some sort of a blend of wood and flesh.

    Are you an artsudent?

Just how did you manage do collect all this knowledge about light, colour, form...ect?
Amazing----what really should try to do, in my opinion, would be to stop thinking about form or the way things are supposed to be.
Like, for example, how would you portray a sad human without being permitted to paint eyes, mouth...a facial expression?

I would like to see you try this- the results would be great to watch. Challange yourself more than you do now. Be radical, be minimal, be even more than that.

I will personally beat you up if you don´t continue art.

I freaking love the colors ur using in the background, what I do miss a bit tho is in the sketches it looked more like the trees had arms with which he could collect souls. I'm not sure about the backstory of this particular god but with the current design souls would kind of have to ooze into him instead of him actually gathering souls.
Or... I dno, just thought I'd write something more useful than "omg this is awesome".
    Hope this made sense

Oh my lord: post #527 with Alice and the Caterpillar! I poohed myself a little because I lost control of myself. Your textures are beautiful, especially the mucus covered, shiny surface of most of your creatures. I dig your wicked ideas.

Parsakoira: Thank you so much! I know koira is dog, what is parsa?

madchild : Well I'm learning lots everyday so I guess I am an art student, but I graduated a few years ago. Thank you for the kind words and the suggestions. I actually do a lot of abstraction/doodles when I am not working on any "finished" pieces, similar to the kind of stuff you mentioned. I'll post more of those here too

Teundeboer : Great observation! I noticed the latest version was looking a lot more static, I definitely want the branches to look like arms, maybe a mix of spideryness and human arms. Hahaha, I have such hopelessly vague ideas in my head. Thanks for stopping by!!

Nutella : Thank you so much!

Here's the finished Alien Noble..or something.

alien noble looks seeexxxy. my only critiques are:

    - the form shadow running down the right side of his body (our left) is darker than the area beneath his hands, which is an obvious and easy fix.

    - you can make those rim lights reeaaallly pop if you take a complimentary color (purple on yellow, o' course) and push the saturation way down and the brightness way up, then hit some really opaque strokes along the edges of the most obvious light-catching form. just in a couple areas where you want attention. makes it look more realistic and leads the eye and breaks up the silhouette effect heavy rim light causes.

    - lastly, speaking from a personal aesthetic standpoint, the front of that robe feels very simplified. obviously he could tie the robe from the back or slide it over head, but the former is boring from this camera angle and the latter is unlikely given his head shape. why not take advantage of the compositional opportunity and bring the sleeve decoration motif up the center of his body? you could even echo the chin/neck-hem shape and bring the centerline up around as a secondary layer of collar. maybe come up with an elaborate decorative area below his chin (based on his facial decorations, even) to re-inforce his nobility?

anyway. its already awesome, so just take those with a grain of salt

wow super awesome updates as always

i can't crit much because im a big noob but i think i'd like the alien noble piece more if there was a bit more detail or some sort of design on the front chest part of his robe but other than that its super perfect already........ D:
