Hey, thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. Your sketchbook has been a massive source of inspiration to me, I've been through it several times. Guess I should've left a comment before... Anyway, if you've ever got time to offer any advice it'll always be very, very welcome.

Do clients usually ask for hyper rendered storyboards or can you be somewhat loose with them?

Spellsword95- Thanks man! yes i need to challenge myself to do more fully rendered art ...... I do like the results when I go after stuff like that... just need to do more of it... thanks for the challenge...!!

midknight523- there are many types of storyboards that clients will specifically commission an artist to do:

PRESENTATION STORYBOARDS-

These Storyboards border on being concept design pieces and can go as far as looking like matte paintings. These are the higher end storyboards used to sell a concept to be green lit.

1- 4 frames per day

MID LEVEL - STORYBOARDS

much quicker and looser storyboards but still have a high edge of finish and convey alot of information....lighting, mood etc.....

12 -15 frames per day

SHOOTING BOARDS -

very rough - but still very legible storyboards designed to convey as much meaning and information as possible super quick- leaning heavy on sequential storytelling and explaining shots thoroughly

30- 50 frames per day

ANIMATION STORYBOARDS

not familiar with

STORYBOARD COMPS -

used mainly in advertising campaigns - can be high rendered or brightly colored presentation images used to sell a print ad concept.
