Those oils are sick, inspiring work as usual, thanks for taking the time to crit in my sb, very much appreciated. Whats even more appreciated is the time and energy you and the guys at mb are putting into the dvds and the downloadable vids. I know I have a ways to go as an artist, but if it wasn't for mb, I wouldn't be where I am today. Can't wait for the workshop, its going to be one for the history books my friend, back to the drawing board.
Thanks for everything bro,![]()

Enviroments are really cool. And juicy strokes in the oil portraits!

cool, you have a sketchbook! I haven't seen this before. Really nice paintings, both traditional and digital. I really like traditional painting, its very nice to see amongst all the photoshopping. Its hard to crit you since you most probably are ahead of me on every point hahaOne thing that i always admire is when someone uses few strokes that tell just as much as if it was super rendered. In my opinion that takes more skill and knowledge, and i'd say you do it very well!
sorry for all the asspatting.![]()
realmente muy bueno
haha, yeah i know. do you have it at work? y'know i'd like it for myselfOriginally Posted by el coro

awesome sb coro! it's awesome seeing how all the neighborhood crackheads influence your bums and whores. that one skinny tweaked out chick with the dudes, is it that small red head that hangs out at the corner with those patent boots and pimps? i saz you do one of the crazed babymangirl with the fro and hands in her(?) pants!
as always great stuff all around. esp. those portraits.
If I ever make it to an industrial death world with huge vats of molten something or other, I'll be thinking of the Bahamas too. Top notch work, like the greens in the girl with the blue lighting, enviros from you are always awesome.

That last batch of oils is nuts. I love the bold and fluid brushwork you've got, and those colors are equally dope. Those digitals are rad too. I always wondered if there was somebody thinking about palm trees and beaches in a super teched out future. Digging the variety of textures, especially that chalk/pastel look in some spots. Dope as always.

Just wanted to say thank you for your contribution to this site and for sharing your work and techniques with us. You have been a great inspiration and I look forward to future updates.... subscribed.![]()
amazing! your work is beautiful!
System OverLOOAAD! Heh, here I am watching a vid of Jon Foster speaking at AAU, looking at Richard Schmid's work (via another window) and now your latest oils.
I.Can't.Take.iT. Anymore. Heh..well actually I can - keep bringing it! As usual, beautiful work. But I'm thinking I really, really love your oil paintings the most!
Holy hell you started an sb??! I remember finding out who you were last year at San Fran, spending like 2 hours with one of your sketchbooks in my hands and nearly peeing myself like the entire time. Can't say just how excited I am that you're posing here now.pld: Thanks so much for sharing all your stuff... and I guess I'll see ya in Seattle in a couple days?
edit: a quick question I didn't get the chance to ask at the workshop... I noticed you used ink or a fat splat of color of some kind in a lot of your sketchbook pages... but it's vibrant like marker ink. I know it could be a variety of different mediums, but I'm curious what you use. Could you share your secret?![]()

save me with your crits!
happy new year dood!
this is like striking oilz in the sketchbook section... great news that you started up a new SB. here i was having no idea. Anywhizzle be sure to make some humorous perverted artwork in seattle.
edit: Questions!
Do you still do the full-color sketchbooks? if not, has the energy you put into those now going towards the alla-prima oils? There was a page i saw... like in 2004 at the san fran workshop... i believe the composition was 4 apostles on one page: what did you use for the gold leaf effect in the background?
big props to yourself and the other mb crew for putting together these downloads... they be the cat's tits.

It was kick ass to be able to see you work in Seattle! PLEASE bug Nox to post his PS brushes!
I didn't really get a chance to watch you complete your speed enviros because I was constantly running around and to say the least enviros are NOT my favorite thing to paint. I'm always amazed by the amount of detail and especially atmosphere you can achieve in peoples environments and I can never do anything like it. So do you mind sharing your technique?
Dude, your creature demo was hysterical! I think you and Dan Milligan should do stand up comedy together!
I thought this was an interesting coincidence so I'd post it.
So a few weeks ago I posted my first ever life drawing that I did. It was this:
Today I was looking through your gallery and I found this oil painting that you did of the same model. It's pretty friggin awesome... especially after seeing other oil paintings that have been done of the model.
Anyway... enough spamming your SB. Take care man!
