Well, what can I say, this place rocks. The work posted on this site is top notch, and the people really know what they are talking about. I've been lurking here for a little while now, and I finally decided to get some stuff up.

A little about me:
I'm 17 (as of August 18th, 2007), and I currently live in the United States. I've loved drawing for as long as I can remember, and I hope to keep loving it as long as I live. My favorite medias are black ink and graphite. After high school, I'm planning on attending College, then trying to start a career as an illustrator.

Really cool stuff, lovin' the angry dragon and the thief (?) guy.

1 crit I have it that the ladies hips on the 4th one are really thin.

Nice crosshatching on your armored death guy.

Looking at it again, I'm not entirely sure, but the lady on the dragons shoulder has really broad looking shoulders... maybe thats sexism? (me thinking women cant have broad shoulders) But I donno, cool stuff either way! keep it up.

Kapope: Yeah, I know the hips are too thin on the rendering of the man and woman. However, the shoulders on the woman who is sitting atop the dragon are correct; yet again, it's her hips that are to small. Thank's for the comment, and the crit.

Hey there, welcome! Really great start here. I LOVE the second pic, great example of some killer inkwork. You should check out the Lord of the Rings Beastiary (forget which edition, but it has some amazing ink illustrations) if you're really into that. It always inspires me.

I'm a real fan of your hatching and crosshatching. You don't see a technique like that often. It does look like you avoid hands a little though. my favorite is the T-Rex. Hope to see more. lats

Everything looks awesome, but they say that the tablet is not so good for learning to paint, better to go back to traditional stuff, like acrylics, after you learn with that you can be benefited by thye tablet wich is a very practical and fun tool. I cant critique you on anything else i think, maybe some more practice with adding light and shadows from real life?, keep it up!!!.

Christian223: Thanks for the crit. In fact, I do know how to use acrylics a bit, and I love Oil Pastel as well. I'll try to get a few more of my colored traditional stuff up as well. However I do understand what you are saying about knowing traditional before moving to the PC. In addition, I know that I have to do more life drawing to help better myself (I'm working on it ). Again, thanks for taking the time to look over my work!

loving your stroke technique. On the Colored assassin piece for your ink layer change the layer property to multiply. It will keep the integrity of your ink lines and you wont get that thin lightness around the lines.

Tea Drinker: Thanks for the tip; I've been wondering how to get rid of the 'haze' in the linework. 'll try it out!

Hey, cool stuff you got here!

With the last Self Portrait you posted I think that the face is so well done that you should give the hair a little extra attention. Not that the hair is bad but compared to the detail in the face the hair kinda looks thrown on there.

Keep posting, this is turning in to a really cool sketchbook!

The skull is the outline to a shirt graphic I am creating using silk-screening, project currently in progress. The girl is fittingly named Giraffe Girl because of her un-proportionally long neck. The reason for this is that I just didn’t feel like erasing what I had and starting over… . The other two are preliminary sketches for a drawing I am currently working on (the final is on 18” X 24” 80 lb. paper, and is preliminary sketch 2).

Apart from some of your proportions being abit of here and there, some decent work.

I really like your ink work, and the textures and volume that you manage to create in them. This sense of form (and fun) seems to be missing from the pencils and other mediums - kind of hard to explain.

SEVANS - Very interesting thought you bring up there. I don't really see what you’re talking about, but I'm a biased opinion, so I don't know what to say. Perhaps it's because my ink-work tends to seem more finished because of the true black, where as my pencil-work tends to be rather light...Also, I have been really struggling with my proportions as of late, so it is something I am working on very hard.
