Wow I love that broken down house, very nice. While the rendering on that portrait from a photo is nice there are just some subtle differences that give the girl a slightly different expression. Just keep on working at it and posting. Welcome to the community.

im glad you guys like em
so guess I should take the no crits as a good thing.

got to a scanner today and uploaded some life drawings today
most of them are ten minutes the last is a forty so I did it a few times, don't really like long poses these days....
and the eye is a study from a photo

yeah decided that it was easier just to take pictures of my sketchbook than wait for a scanner. kind of bad lighting though but yeah best stuff out of my sketchbook in the last two months. lots of studies from photos and some other random things

    corey,

your works are so much more awesome than the first time i met you! you are really underated

you have a wide variety of style and your paintings are cool and experimental. if you want constructive critiques, post on the critique center section of the forums.

as for your life drawing, maybe it was the short poses, but i think you could get more value range in them.

    best,

Very solid artwork in your sketchbook. Beautifully rendered scooter and motorcycle and birds and portraits and...Eh, for short, you excel in many areas! Your art is a pleasure to look at!

haha thats awesome. not much of a constructive critique but i would like to see a shadow underneath him (instead of a horizon line) to make the piece feel more grounded. and it might be just me but i think that his left hand is too big.

you have a good sense of colors as well as great observational skills. i dig those birds.

wip can't decide on the head

ill remember to put a shadow shadow on the ground might be pretty interesting for this one and to have a very specific light source

    thanks for the comments

I am doing the sculpture with a teacher so it is going to take a while cause I only work on it once a week definitely want to put up some more picture of it tho when its more finished

why does this work and why does this not work?

its great that it is somewhat stylized. i like the idea of the character, however, i dont feel that there is much thought behind this. it definitely has a potential to be a good character design. lighting wise, its a bit odd. you dont have a definite lighting source. his pose does not work for me either, if you change it to a silhouette, the shape isn't interesting (kind of boxy).

nice, bro. this is by far more of a solid design than most of your recent work you've put up. it's so fantasy-ish you can feel that there is a regal feeling behind this character. not only by her expression also by the rich colors that you have on an extravagant costume. detailing the hands a bit further will also add to this.

    awesome.
