Gonna get this illustration done right! Enjoy
color/edge studies.
Those last ones are really nice! Also, there are some good designs and renderings on your sketchbook pages. I'd only suggest working more on your anatomy and proportion skills.
Cheers,

Abrodos thanks.

flexing that old digital muscle
"I'll stay here and keep an eye out"
edits. adjustments. progress~!
NIce woirk so far! On this last shouldnt there be more of a cast shadow on the cliff pieces? If they are ment to be steplike rock flats some of the cliff above it would cast some shadow on it. The bit in the top middle could do with some, would help sell your perspective.
kidult yeah, i totally hear ya. Thanks for the suggestion!

i'm callin this one. time to move on to other stuffs!

Hey Mark, top down thing is cool. The ship has a bit of an angled perspective, while everything else has a straight overhead, which makes it read funny. Hot girls in sweet costumes are looking good. Designs are strong, line quality is nice. anatomy structure is a bit weird though (heh I'm one to talk) Bridgman's structural shit would take it from good to great, or something phrased along those lines. Hopefully I'll see you this weekend.

Blue Severin Thanks for the tips. Yeah i noticed some of that stuff about the ship maybe i'll fix it one of these days. Not today though. I definitely need to pick up a Bridgman book, i have some anatomy stuff (Loomis, Barcsay) but nothing really focused on structure like he does. Anyhow, back to studies and sketches. I probably won't be getting up to SF for a good while now, I'm pretty booked up until the end of Feb.

just some comps, There's some good stuff, but most of it needs work. Playing with Whit's Brushes![]()

Blue Severin Yea i saw that. i got the brigman books but they weren't that great resolution. I need to find better copy of them so the lines actually read well.

i was waiting for a plane. this resulted
Hey Mark, cool thumbs man. Heh, that's actually what the illustrations in the book look like, really rough scans, I've got a material copy I'm looking at right now. It is easier with an actual book in front of you though. Hope to see more cool drawings!

Blue Severin cool man i'll have to go through that then when i stop being a lazy bum.

what was that about being a bum? O right. i don't study enough anatomy. It shows. Here's some stuff i've been doodling.
here we go. jumpin back on this train

today's perspective is a little off
Just looking at this page, your improvement from the beginning of this year till now is pretty incredible.
Your environments are really strong, and only made better by solid coloring skills. The figure studies are fairly solid.
It seems your character designs don't have the same confidence as the studies though. Two things I recommend trying--
1) try using your studies as bases for character designs. You already have the figure drawn, and done well, why not add your own touch from there?
2) Work on line quality. Remember "economy", or drawing with as few lines as possible.
Looking forward to more environments!
HugeHarHar thanks for the tips. i'll definitely keep that in mind in my future figure studies![]()

needs some work. proportions are iffy.
yeah dude, keep rocking the studies. Buildings look good except for the perspective like you said. Have fun man, strides forward for sure.
