Hey daestwen , don't remember for sure , but i think this is the 1st time visiting your sketchbook , interesting takes , courageous i might ad , but most of the problems come from the plans of the body , you need to add more consistency , and make the colors pop , you don't want that dull feel ... take care ^^

I already told you I really like the first soldier thing you did. It might seem simple but it's really effective, and the face is just awesome. Really handy portfolio stuff right there I think

I also like the Prom Queen thingy and the idea for the wood elves. The head is a bit too small on the last one, and the straps over her chest are a bit confusing though.

The ChOW is great, and the elves look really nice.. Rangers?

About the soldier I have a small crit: Usually bulletproof vests tend to be thicker (depending on the level of protection), and military ones are at least are usually thick and bulky.

    Here are some examples
    http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/xml/...800_070419.JPG
    http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?s...&article=40930

Apart from that, it looks great

    Nice updtae!
This last one is really wide around the hips. I have nothing against big asses but this looks a little bit to wide. Good design and I hope to see the final.

Overall nice work and I like your style.

Some little anatomical things that are "off" that others have pointed out. Although I don't think the hips are necessarily too wide. Instead I believe that it's the jointwork. It reminds me of the old He-Man action figures in how the legs angle out from the pelvis.

I like it how you vary your digital work~ how you study from other paintings and do a lot of characters, with a little bit of a magical feel to some.

Have you thought about trying more daring, saturated colour combinations? Or reflections?
    It could get interesting!

    Good luck onwards!

yoitisi: Thanks! I know what you mean about the head/straps. Still gotta work on stuff!

quike: actually the vest is a very particular part of a particular uniform and usually has another vest above that, so it's thinner than the stuff you see on the marines in the pictures you provided. :] can't really go into detail above that, nda stuff, but there is a reason for the thickness! sharp eye, though Thanks!

B-Man: Still trying to work out the posing for the final, as you can see below. Hopefully the hips look better?

AikidoAl: Hullo! Nice to see you. Are the below sketches any better? (hehe, he-man!)

BlackDelphin: Thanks! I'm totally terrified of colour, but we'll see! ;P

    GriNGo: Thanks!

Ooooh, I love the one at the top of this page, looks great!

Out of the persians, I would have to say that the one on the right looks best.

Real nice stuff throughout this SB, yowza just got bookmarked.

Heya back. Hope life is treating you well. The elf piece is coming out pretty sweet. I think you had some sort of personal artwork jump lately? Also like the thumbnails...no he-man/she-ra jointwork! Feel free to do her horse tho.

AikidoAl: Yeah, her posing is killing me. I had to drop her since no one could do the evil version for our team, but here's the latest version of it below. I'll probably go back to it later when I can look at it again.

Good to see TiPhar a little bit further on. I like this pose Britt, it suits the character well.

I think you could do with a few hand studies. Spend a bit of time drawing the hand you don't draw with in different poses. This is something I need to do as well. I've got into some bad habits with drawing hands. Also find some simple objects to hold to indicate pressure and how different a hand is when it actually holds something.
