    Sve (Svetlana Lazutkin)

My name is Svetlana Lazutkin, short version is Sveta, nickname is sve.

I would like to improve my painting and drawing skills and study and apply on practice color theory, perspective, appealing brushwork, expressing atmosphere in paintings and other useful things. Shortcomings: I don't paint freely, too self conscious. I need to learn how define form with a minimum brush strokes and minimum values.

    My sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=50857&page=20

Three examples of my artwork I like:

Art that I like, three examples:
Simon Fellah for the mystery and enigma in the image.
Scott Altmann for the longing, hypnotic effect and erotic appeal in the image.
OK, I can't find the photo I posted earlier as a third example... so here the painting I love by Lukias. I love it for fresh, fine, delicate feeling and yep, erotica again .

Yes, Steve, saw her work, thank you for the link, she painted a lot of new ones... I like her work moderately. She exploits just one idea and my interest is thinning. I understand why you remembered about her... mood in her artwork is the same: intoxication (close to Scott's piece).

Well. I look at many pictures, but there is no ref in particularly... you are right calling it as indefinite "this", hahahah, it is sure an awkward creature . First crit is spot on .

    Week 3 Homework Studies...

state how what you are doing, why you're doing it, and why you think it will be an effective way of learning/improving.

I'm making studies of values and color recognitions, just trying to find right tone and hue. Another goal was to work on my brush economy. I think it is an effective way to learn because there is no other tool to measure, just my eyes: and feeling of balance, I'm training myself to see nuances.

    1. Study of hands from a photo.
    2. Study from life. Mushrooms.
    3. Teapot, study from photo ref. Trying to match the colors and values.

    Week three, homework.

Steve, I mentioned it in my last post, the mushrooms are painted from a real life. They actually have got darken and wrinkled pretty much in the end. No sense to take any ref photos.
I repost hand gesture again and mushrooms the way you said you wanted them..
