professional critique needed (a concept artist wannabe)

Hello!
It's my first time posting here. I want to show you some of my recent drawings in hope of getting feedback. I'm going to train myself in concept art, but I'm not sure if I'm going the right way and what I should do. I know that my style now is typical for illustrations. I've got myself a Wacom tablet recently, but before this I was using Pentagram. (the difference is terrific!) So let's start...

Personaly i think your well on your way to become an Illustrator rather than concept artist. Which isnt a bad thing. I think theres a lot more work out there for illustrators.

as far as 'concept art' your going to need a lot more fast paced thumbnail type work. Having these rendered out illustrations is usualy only done after you have quickly investigated a dozen other ideas first.

Your mamoth image for example, Its pretty cool, and has a lot of detail, but how else could we view this moment in time? Try doing some quick composition shots. Show the camera from the ground looking up, the camera over the caveman's shoulder, from the enemy point of view (or whatever he is shooting arrows at)...

Concept art and illustration kind of go hand-in-hand, but if your going to promote yourself as a concept artist, Its far more important to show a PROCESS of how you got to the final render.

If all you have to show is that you sat down with a blank piece of paper, and then made your one finished rendered piece, you wont be very attractive as a concept artist, but you could get hired as an illustrator.
