My first CHOW! Actually, I think this is my second contribution to the site overall. The theme reminded me of some old black and white movies I remember seeing as a kid, so I tried to go for the same look. The post-apocalyptic thing is maybe a tad overdone, but I like it, so he's a de-evolved human out gathering things he thinks may be useful in the rubble left behind.

Here's my final for the burning. As usual there is not enough time in a day for me to get these done.

The Future Caveman Project takes place in the 4th millennium. Future humans have been altering their genetic code in aspirations of being physically perfect. Because of this, mankind is but a empty shell and has lost its "spark"- what makes us human. To recapture this spark, excavation teams have been sent to the North and South poles in the hopes of finding lost exploration parties of the 20th century that have been frozen in caves.

As people grow more stupid every day, and the lack of need to leave ones home becomes more of a reason to stay locked in, the cavemen of the future labor not behind plows but in front of monitors. With chips in their heads they can create their own realities as they work.

super rundown - hope not to miss anybody i think its important to crit everyone who took the time to create.

chance -needs to be more thatn a sketch, good start but needs a lot of finishing

newman- great color and rendering, not sure on the idea, is your caveman an alcoholic due to the ankle bracelet? toes are a little squidgy on the chair.

jockeman- more finishing required, rendering clarification of idea

ikuru - nice and violent, great drawing and color not especially cavemanish though

ifman1 - some more details could help, overall lackluster
JLAlfaro - nice style and color, guy looks like a 300 extra though. plus gas mask.

Kreator - i like this a lot, nice lighting

rodriguez - needs more depth and finishing

Honey - little cartoonish, but close

myself - ink and brush with digital color done too fast will be redoing that for personal final. postapocalyptic walking across bridge? c'mon. well at least he has a bear.

Wholewheat_keyboard - nice idea and solid execution, differnet idea of caveman, more like a monk

dabble - a lso like this one a lot, good color and idea.

QwertyUiop - head seems unconnected, perhaps too detailed, loosen up a bit
and work on idea

Antne - cool pic, looks like he'll be the last caveman though.

Poojipoo - i like the renderign style and the fire, yay for post apocalytic learning mutants

matias - nice rendering and style. whats the story though?

Nutter - i like the rendering, half of me like the Elmo, half doesnt, is he trying to scare people with it?

christ - unsure on concept, liked the stylized effect for creating their own realities, figure seems unfinished

voted only the one in this, voted for nutter, simply becouse i think he covered both things that were asked of the brief, 1. he has a caveman look,bodyshape, and in a cave, etc.. and 2. a future setting, the weapon hes carrying is a simple one, but has a future element to it. Also the Elmo glove puppet won me over

Question: Is the elmo puppet just bait to attract all the other little wild elmos, so the caveman can kill a few for his food?

My reaction to a few of them:

Newman: Clever use of a club. Immediately recognizable as a caveman. Voted for you.

Jockemon: Looks like a knight. I don't believe a caveman would have the sophistication to fabricate symetrical armor.

Ikuru: Looks like a modern day gang member, or a psychopathic raver.

JLAlfaro: Lord Humungus from Mad Max.
