Tigermilk take it easy big boyhe's probably eating with his family trying to get away from having to sit and listen to their babbling.
Go draw something instead! Study composition or something. Its fun =D
Tytseng Great stuff, man. You remind me of myself, Tho I wish I had alot more insight when I was younger to really get into studying art and not just doodle crap.
I'm amazed over how many people are named Chris here..
Keep it up! Study some perspective too, maybe we can get you drawing some kickass scenery too?![]()

great sb.
the action scenes are great.
(sorry my english is poor)
oh my god dude, i hate you lol, im one year older than you and ur still ahead of me >,<
As beautiful as usual, love the portrait of the man with mustache, which reminds me I should do more pencil work rather than playing too much in PS![]()
Haven't seen you post for a while, hum... looking for the next updating, and I am also curious how you gonna describe the process of making those anime yet realistic work!!
Cheers
the first portret - fantastic work! very strong emotions
Hi tytseng,
Nice to have met you in class.Thank you for your kind comments. It's amazing how figure drawing can apply to character design. I'm really loving Kevin's class. "I think I got less creative as I started to learn more!" This is SO true.
Character concepts you showed are pretty solid. I'm glad we all get to see each others progress these 10 weeks.
Like the head studies you have in post #19 & post 26 and the last page of a male portrait, as well. The little figures quiks have great movement in them.
See you in class

Hey all!
Wow, its been ... since last year since I updated this thread.
Anyway-- I've been pretty busy with a lot of stuff. One of them was that over the summer I went to CSSSA Innerspark at Calarts (this summer program thing for Animation). So the figure drawings are from the CalArts program during the summer. The approach is design-based. I think that approach can make my paintings more interesting.
The watercolor (60 sec) and pen/ink gestures (AB Frost- 105 seconds I think?) are from my Saturday and Monday classes with Marshall Vandruff.
The tree sketches/wc is from an Illustration class trip to a nature center. The landscape CG is something I did last night after watching Scott Robertson's Techniques using compositing ( DVD).
It's been a hell of a long time so I have more old stuff to update and I'll spare you guys the image spam and upload them bit by bit, hopefully alongside new stuff.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and to DeathChalupa, I'm 18 now so you don't have to feel so stressed out about age (haha!)
Anyway... again, thanks for dropping by!!
absolutely fantastic stuff you have here amigo, I am truly impressed! I love the enviro by the way! Riveting work. Five stars from me to you!

Wow, I really like the watercolor studies. @_@ Make me want to pick up the brush again. This last CG is interesting, the overall strokes are so appealing.

@Mischeviouslittleelf- Thank you! By the way, epic sketchbook!
@Tigermilk- It's really nice of you to be sticking around! (After all this time, too..) Many thanks!
@Pseudocognition- fellow teen? Awesome. Nice character work, I like your interpretation of Artgerm's Pepper character
@Shalite- Looking at your signature-- 13? Get out of the forums! (Haha, just kidding!) Keep it up and you'll whoop all our asses in no time!
And of course trying not to post without a picture to match, here's a zombie based on one of my classmates!
GAH!
awesome sketches are awesome!! You inspire me!
naRai- Thanks!
Here's another one.. stared at it for too long I think
Happy Halloween!
Forgot to put this up last night haha
Was thinking of Kley
Dude you rule! O_O
Knowing that you are almost the same age as me reallly inspires me!
[seeing the work you did at 17..bah.i need to improve to your level!@.@]
very nice and stylized stuff, which i dont think i can ever do..
tho i should try speed painting one day>.<
@algenpfleger - Lol thanks!
@Elaine10 - thank you, and keep it up! Definitely try speedpainting sometime SOON, haha. And don't say you don't think you can do a style or not. Won't know if you don't try, and even if you can't get a particular style down you can likely learn from your attempt at it-- hence we study the masters!
More watercolor gestures from photos of birds, 120 sec

Yay, another update! Record time, I'm on a roll! haha
A gouache study that I abandoned but later on I decided I kind of liked it this way
With a touch of Photoshop magic!
I'm also doing this blog thing in which I try to update as often as possible (ideally once a day.. or something close) so I'll likely be posting on here more too
