I think that you will need another year or more to finish it
That's helpful.I think that you will need another year or more to finish it
I hope you don't mind but I did a quick paintover. I'm at work so I didn't have much time on it.
One thing I noticed more than anything else, was the lack of any hard edges. Don't be afraid to commit to hard strokes. I tend to the same thing, when I'm working hard on a piece and go soft and smooth with everything.
Make sure you check your perspective, I didn't have time to fully fix it, but really check the legs and arms, think of them as cylinders. Look at a paper towel tube at home, then think of that when drawing.
Also make sure you try and separate foreground and background elements. I put a slight blur and darkened the foreground head.
There's more I'd like to show, but I'm late delivering some weapon concepts and really am pushed for time. Hope some of this helps.
Over all a decent start, keep working at it. This is a good place to get advice from people, so take it all in and learn. Most of all, draw, draw, draw!

Dougbot' Good on you. I didn't understand this image at first, but your paintover really gave it what it needed.
Personally I'd like this image more if you had a longer view of the toy. Big expanse of empty floor with the mutilated toy in the corner looking sad and isolated. But that's just me.
Looks like a promising start but needs some more work ... you def need a background ... look at the great paint-over ... by just adding a corner you establish some sense of orientation and feeling ... add a couple of smaller toys in the front and maybe suggest some kinda poster on one of the walls ...
