NIGHTMARE OF THE WEEK #3

This week's topic is:

Mr/Mrs Johnson, Strange Neighbour From Hell

At some point of your lives you must've come across at least one strange neighbour...Whether it was someone living in an old house nearby or in the apartement on the same floor as you, remember the way he always stared when met in the doorway or when he carried all those heavy bags at night and dissapeared in the dark?
Let's imagine that this neighbour isn't just a local freak. When everybody thinks he's a harmless weirdo his flat is in fact gate to some other reality or maybe the blood covered hideout of a psychopatic killer?
It's the neaighbour on which you should put the focus though. But not an ordinary strange neighbour.
The one that deals with the devil and eats human flesh.

Full pose or just head &shoulders. This isn't CHOW, we're not too strict about that kind of thing. It's the idea that matters, not 2%of the chatacter that didn'f fit in the frame

Just a quick wip to get things started.
ill probably keep it b&w, i find b&w can give so much more atmosphere to an image, especially usefull for horror.

Oh....I like it!
My impression is that it's raining and the scene is reflected in the big watery puddle...Am I right?

Yes your defenatly right about the puddle, and the reflextion is the true idendity of the person in a wheel chair( hell if you like). But to be honest i hadn't actually thought of it still raining, but adding a rain effect may make it better.

Well it's a very good way of thinking Grenogs- a neighbour whose true identity you can only see in mirror reflections which is a bit opposite to vampires which have no reflection at all. I can't wait to see what this chap on the wheelchair really is!

I was gonna post WIP...but I won't. So far my neaighbour doesn't look very hellish...Slightly evil, naughty maybe?..but definitely not from hell...Oh damn it, I have to keep working on it

Grim i would post the wip anyway, even if you dont think its hellish enough, becouse other people here may disagree with you.

Personally i think McDonalds is pure hell, with all that Glutony and Greed they spread around the world. Constantly getting people to sell their souls without them even realizing so. And look at the people who work there, their defenetly not human. lol

Grenogs- hah thats a massive problem...how to get people to participate?

The only house on the street where steps lead up to the door, with steps again leading down directly behind it. Those steps go down into hell, as the house itself is a portal into the deepest pits of the underworld. During the day, the house looks like an old abandoned shack, but in the dark of night, it is a beacon of hellish flame. Every month, the "neighbor" comes up and "visits" one of the people living nearby as a sacrifice to keep the portal open. Soon, the house will be a staging point for a full demonic invasion. He is only seen by his victims.

And Grim, don't beg people to participate because it seems bit pathetic

More will come when few good entries appear. Like ChaoticKnight's WIP but it's just a promise of good entry for now.

I just realized how much potencial this thread could have. Horror and nightmares are such an open subject, whether its psy-fi, fantasy, reality, chow, eow, cow, or idw, all these subjects can be placed into this thread. They all just have to have one thing in common, make it scary.

My entry:

" Mr Johnson lives on the 5th floor. He used to be a surgeon. Now he hardly speaks to anyone...After he was blamed for the death of that little girl he lost his job.
One night, two years ago, the sound of a gunshot came out of his apartment...People thought he shot himself- a lonely man like him...
But next day they saw him entering the building like if nothing happened.
Only his shadow tells of the horrible tragedy that happened. Some who looked closely saw a big hole where his head was..."

Excellent work, brother ! This could work as a short story itself.
Impressive portrait and perfect blood stains but there's something odd with right part of his gown: the edge is very sharp but the collar and the rest of right side is quite blurred.

Sup guys....the topic grabbed me-kinda felt like a quick doodle so here's my 1st NOW. When I 1st saw the topic it made me think of Jhonen Vasquez's JTHM-random.

After being kept up all night by the wiiierd noises nextdoor Bob decides enough is enough-he's gonna go round there, and give that inconsiderate assmucher a piece of his mind-some people have to work in the morning damnit!!!!@*.
Suffice to say-Bob kinda wishes he'd kept his godam mouth shut.

Daveneale- great work! Interesting aproach- neighbour who is truly hellish but is more of a ghost than a monster or a psycho. I can just imagine opening the door and seing that kind of thing creeping in the darkness of the room...

Oops sorry Grenogs not an offer to you. You just reminded me of the phrase I had come up with altering the one I had to use at burger king,
"welcome to burger king how may I help you?" Say it more than a million times you can't help thinking up new ways to say it....
ex. "how may I help push you over the edge?"

Hmmm inhuman, that sounds like a nightmare. Heck anything behind the counter is a nightmare.

uhg after reading your burger heaven post 3 times (real meat, crisp fresh salad, ,gurkins) , now I am hungry with nothing in the house but frozen pizza.
