    Industries.

Hello, all. I'm new here. After some looking around, I can see that this place is a bit more...how should I put this..."Adult" than Deviant Art. (read: I didn't get any pageviews BAAAAAWWWW!!) Anyway, I just thought I'd test the waters, and see how my work is received. Be gentle. Don't hurt me.

    The Hand of God.

Drawn at my work in about 20 minutes.

    What do you think?

    Welcome to CA.

I like that the stylization isn’t the typical manga stuff that comes from deviant art. You could do some interesting things with it. Also, these are interesting characters that are telling a story with their interaction. Spiffy. Where the image is falling short is in the composition. these guys could use an environment, and instead of being smacked randomly on the page, they would be much more interesting if they and whatever else within the composition were arranged in a manner that directs the eyes to the important bits.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your input, as it is very appreciated and not the usual "ZOMG GOOD STUFF" comments I usually see.

This drawing is sparse on purpose, though. I rarely use backgrounds in my work just because I think of myself more as a character artist, but in this piece, if I had to choose a background, I wouldn't have inserted one. I was trying to go for the whole "White nothingness after death" vibe. It's a very easy background to draw!

Again, I can't thank you enough for you comment. I haven't had any constructive crit in a long time.

Seedling has already said most of what I had in mind, so I won't echo her post. I will say that I'd enjoy seeing these in full colour.. any chance you'd feel up for doing that?

This kind of stuff reminds of the good ole days when Heavy Metal published the Strip Tease in the middle of the mag. Man... that was the only saving grace when the feature books fell flat on their face.

very cool. With some color, composition and some more graphic elements you could make some realy nice pieces with this style. Do you ever use traditional media or just digital?

I use only traditional media in my art. I've dabbled in pixelart, and I make a webcomic in MSPAINT, but all I've ever really used is ink on paper.

I'm not usually happy with my stuff when I color. I have, however, had some success with others coloring my drawings.

Thought I'd also post something in the same series, this one colored.

Mmm have you tried, how do you call that - cell shading perhaps? Not sure, someone help me out if you know what I mean.
Like, you have a basic color, but the shadow and light sides have a darker or lighter outline. The thing you see often in flash games and such. Think that might work. I'll see if I can dig up some examples, unless you know what I'm aiming for. The colors used above seem to flatten the image rather than contribute to it.

Aside from that; love them, easy to read, clean, and fun. No real crits, I'm not too good at stylized stuff.
Anyways, if your after improving yourself, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay, this is the right place. Welcome

    You’re welcome.

If you want to use a lot of emptiness, you still need to provide your audience with context somehow. A white sheet of paper is just a white sheet of paper (and deduced from that, laziness) until the viewer has a reason to think otherwise.

Check out Japanese woodblock prints (ukio-e) for interesting ideas on how to use empty spaces as compositional elements.

wait a sec, so these are ink on paper? wow. the linework as so clean I figured it was digital. nice!

check out "camille rose garcia" she is a slightly different style than you, but she should give you some insperation as to how to fill space and how to use color. also check out Aaron Kraton. and "shag". all 'graphic' painters. could be good insperation to you on how to make finished pieces out of work like this.
