A few of us have formed the Los Angeles Drawing Group, which anyone is free to join:

We post information related to our meetups etc. to this Google Group, which is open to anyone. We just went to the Getty today, and we're planning another trip to LAACMA, probably sometime after Comic Con and SIGGRAPH. If you join the group (just click "join") you will receive email notifications of new topics and replies.
