Thats awesome you are doing loomis studies definitely keep it up! I think its great that you are not only doing studies but at the same time you are drawing from you imagination. You are keeping your approach to learning very exciting, I think this is a plus. You are having fun!! I think this is the most important element.

    @ashrumm, thankyou ^_^

Here's another mix: some muscles studies (bäh - will keep practicing ) and an idea i had whilst 'awake-dreaming' the other day. I only just realized - the rose has no shadow *slaps forehead* magic!!

Whew, thanks a lot that you put me in your signature lady I've searched and searched, but I cannot find the place back to change my signature - you probably do know, I hope? :p So I can finally put my Deviantart link, sketchbook, and indeed your + Rhine's sketchbook in it, also. Btw, Starbones' made a lot of drawings for you, didn't he/she? That's cool ^^ And, I like your rose drawing. Was the muscle study without ref? If so, that's good, and keep practicing it, I think it might help!

    Cheerio
Indeed, I'm the only member who got his avatar from google, and didn't draw it himself. Oh well.

thanks ^^ the left figure was referenced, the others were half referenced or made up. The hand I copied The signature settings, haha, I took ages to find them too ^^ But, there is a link near the top of the page in that toolbar along with 'FAQ' etc., which is called 'user cp' and there somewhere theres another link saying 'edit signature' Yep, Starbones (he) drew a few versions of Ezequil and Emaylaxya, you may remember the request I had on DA once. Ohhh! which reminds me of your request *still has to draw it*

Ok and here's a little thing, a sketch which I drew on the train to Munich today, its a rough work of a charcoal I'm planning. The reason why she has only one wing is because I'm yet undecided as to whether she shall have wings or not.

Just to let you know I'm still alive Busy with college at the moment so I haven't done any complete drawings since, just some random sketches. Some stuff is referenced, some directly copied from pictures or photos etc, and some is just imagination.
I am also too lazy to scan

Edit: plus a digital thing. Copy and paste comment from DA:
just a little practicing in the digital area. I originally intended to follow this tutorial: http://www.code404.nl/joomla/index.p...d=39&Itemid=34
but I couldn't, mostly due to the fact i have a different programm. So I used the gradient colours and the basic idea of trees and clouds, and went on my own from there.

More anatomy? Could Aila be getting more serious about art? *sly smile*

Anyhoo, your stuff, especially male anatomy has come a long way. That last pic, is it referenced? I think it would help to have some colour study to, as some of those hues are really saturated. Keep going and have fun!

Ooh, i like the nightscape (saturated or not ) 8)

..and the centaur! His torso is a mite wonky (shoulders/neck/clavicles...), but otherwise, nicely done!

More more more! *happy little art dance*

@Rhineville, serious about art? who me? Neva!! just kidding. yeh.. if I ever go for a second career it would be one of my choices ^_^ the last picture wasn't referenced. I think, for colour practice, I'll try painting some photos or something. Thanks for dropping by ^^

@AmontilladoAg, and thanks to you too More coming up! Just not so often cos of college!

And here's my latest project. I tried copying this photo from outer space: http://cph-theory.persiangig.com/2030-7.JPG which can be found on this site: http://cph-theory.persiangig.com/2031-ehubblepics.htm , and this is what my version turned out to be like. Not exactly the same, I improvised a little *hmmm* but fun to do!
I'll post the original next to the picture too. So you can directly see where mine went wrong lol. ^^

    Thanks guys
ö.ö haven't done much pencil work recently! Gonna do some today though.

    1) some random sketches I did on the train station last Wednesday, having had to wait nearly 3/4 hour for the train *argh* I'm not fond of drawing in publich and covered it up when someone walked past lol. ^^ Good thing it was a bank holiday. Yes I had college on a bank holiday.
    2) Random digital painting.

Apparently this is a post full of randomness

Hmm. Your skillz with a pencil are most definitely improving but something tells me that you are ripe for a good life study.

    The tree looks killer.

I'm not really sure what the grid paper is for...

alright Aila, I think your getting better with your anatomy, and your shading is phenomenal. However, my opinionated suggestion to you is to work on making figures look more... uh... how do I put it... natural I guess. Try drawing part of your figure with one defining line and have plenty of little shakes and tiny squiggles. Having every line perfect and clean makes what you have look a bit generic. Hope that might help a bit...

Thanks for the tips Krigbrann, I'll keep that in mind ^^

Well here's my latest stuff, I've been doing some figure drawing practice drawing too but nothing worth showing there xD
Also did a charcoal piece too but I can't find where I saved it on my hard drive

    1) a wallpaper I made, I resized it for here but the fullsize version can be downloaded on my dA, here: http://aiylah.deviantart.com/art/Sun...paper-78751137
    2) another wallpaper, not yet finished.. WIP!
    3) a random soft pastel sketch I did at a museum where there was family day and umm.. kiddies activities xD

Also, studies are a key. And passion is a key. Also, so are inspiration, motivation and dedication. Talent can be a key. Insomnia can also be a key, depression is a sad rusty little key. Damn, artists need one hell of a keyring.
