i'm sure this piece will change some more. i'm starting to get a little paranoid about posting some of this stuff. like i said, it's a personal project and i want to keep a lot of it under wraps until i can present it effectively.

JayDee-- man, college was a long time ago for me. i'm learning ZBrush and Modo just to keep up with the demands of my job. it's fun in it's own right, but it makes me a little neurotic to keep jumping between programs.

    zeezee1210--Thanks!

marion--Thanks! I'm trying to go for that epic feel. it's something my environments were lacking, so i'm trying to push forward in that direction.

There's a program called StructureSynth (google it) that you can use to make all kinds of crazy abstract stuff. I'm just starting to play with it.

are we going to see more of that personal project in the near future? would love to because i love the way you design that stuff and as someone already mentioned all those designs have an awesome feeling for scale.

and now my eyes hurt because i wanted to see if that piece is made of alot of circles of those little shapes or if it's a spiral....

some quick playing around with StructureSynth. if you google "generative art" you can see some triply stuff using this kind of software. you need to be able to think like a programmer or understand some 3D math stuff to get some of it to work though. i just barely know enough to play with it.

the original on this is pretty big--about 6000 pixels wide. i'm still working on some of the details--weapon, saddle, stirrups, etc.

    Ludic--Thanks!

HunterKiller--Definitely, dude. that exercise was something awesome for me. it's not so much the mechanics of drawing, picture composition etc., but lately i've been exposed to a lot of "pure design" kinds of ideas from people who went to Art Center, or who work in the industry. some of those approaches are really, really cool.

p_sage--i wish. it's a personal project. a lot of the story is already worked out in my head. it's a delicate thing, so i don't want to post too much right now. a lot of big ideas that might be crap or diamonds or crappy diamonds or diamond-shaped crap.

Kinda reminiscent of that old arcade game "Joust", except the birds are much larger. Good work!
