Okay so i open my photobucket account and upload a pic that the original size is like 8 1/2 by 11 and when I try to post it it comes out huge, here on the threads, like offensively large. Please help I dont know how to fix it

the resolution might be too high - try at it 72dpi and reduce the actual size a bit...

Resize it so that it's no larger than 800x600 pixels (wxh).

photobucket allows you edit pictures.
hit edit > resize
make it 50% of actual size.
do this until the overall dimensions are roughly 800x 600 pixels.

Yeah, like they said: Look at the pixels, not the inches. Easy mistake.
