Ok here are some of the things I've been doing. I'm as good not as good most people on this site so please give some advice!!! Never had a class in my life, I just enjoy drawing form time to time.

BTW: it takes forever to scan> then cut the filesize in paint and than in hp image zone make the picture a little darker.

a dino man, I really like this one. When i drawed him it looked like he would tip over so i gave him staff so he won't fall on his nose.

Hey! You have a solid start!

I especially like that big ostrich.

Here is my general advice:

Try doing more "Shaping" and less "Shadowing." Right now, in the few places you have shading they are more shadows and definition. Shadows do no always define shape! It is more important to darken the planes facing away from the light rather than the shadow those planes create.

Also, try not feathering your strokes, keep then long, nice and clean.

Last but not least: Keep drawing! THis is what you'll hear from every single person on this forum and there is a good reason for it! Constant practice is the only way to learn the most you can.

Drawings I've made since i found this site and got inspired to draw things taken from life and photo and such. Instead of copying someone elses drawings.

I like this one, i think o got everything about right, and i got some action in it.

some woman I drew from a lingerie folder, (to bad most of the heads are to big)

Right afeter i made my last post i started drawing again.

It's a woman caught in a rock (kinda like one of my first posts), my first idea was to have her being against the wall, almost falling down (version the right side), but for your vieuwing pleasure i turned the pic, so it's to give advice etc. So now the woman is coming out of the ground.

same pose but different scene, woman almost falling into a hole in the ground.

hey, blijven tekenen, vooral dan van die lingerie-modellen en meisjes op de trein. Daar kun je enorm veel van leren.
Probeer wel te leren uit je tekeningen, als je ziet dat het hoofd te groot is, teken dezelfde dame nog eens opnieuw maar probeer het hoofd juist te krijgen. Of teken wat "stokventjes" tot je de grote proporties juist hebt. Anatomieboeken zijn niet duur (en je hebt niet meteen eentje nodig waar elke spier in staat) en heel interessant.
Gewoon vaak posten en vaak tekenen. Een goeie motivatie kan zijn elke dag je hand tekenen. Hou de tekeningen bij. Je zult evolutie zien en kunt terugvallen op fouten van de vorige dag. Je zult gegarandeerd vooruitgang boeken, en eenmaal je het potlood in je hand hebt om je hand te tekenen, ga je vanzelf andere dingen tekenen.

Good luck, ik zal later nog eens komen kijken. Leuk eens in het nederlands te kunnen typen.

hey bedankt voor je advies. Ik ben van plan om elke keer als ik met de trein ga een tekeningtje te maken van de mensen om me heen. Ik heb van een studie fysiotherapie nog anatomie boeken (met elke mogelijke spier) ik zal binnenkort eens wat uit die boeken gaan tekenen.

Your right about which ones the best. You got the proportions nailed almost perfectly in that one. Try to sit back when you draw, keeping the whole drawing in view. As a guess, it looks like you might keep the area your drawing in view, and forget about the other parts until you move onto them. As a result, all parts look right, just no as a whole. If you sit back , and draw nice and big filling the page, you should find it easier to keep an eye on whats going on.

Remember, keep an eye on how everything fits together. Search around on the forum for ideal proportions, or check out the loomis books. They will tell you how proportionate the head should be to the the body, and every thing else. Hope that helps.

Keep exercising that creativity, and eventually your technical skills will fall into place on their own. As it is, I can already see some improvement through the thread. Just keep drawing

Flatliner: thanks for the tip, I realised i almost got my nose on the paper sometimes, I don't draw at a table, mostly just sitting on the couch, but I'did some new ones while looking at them from a distance while working on them. not perfect yet, by a longshot but it gets better...

Coulden't concentrate on my schoolwork so.......
So I decided to color a drawing with windows paint, Wich is almost impossible hehe. I downloaded a version off adobe photoshop but the number of option scraed the shit out of me. OOh well, in paint it turned out really ugly so i'll only do this once, because it also took me more than an our to color this ugly thing.

total waste of time....

some stuff i did the last couple of days (bought a new skjetch book and some pencils form soft to hard ones, trying some new techniques)

tried to draw the same position from different angles

No line work, just the side of the pencil used (hard to explain, but i like the result, used three different pencils, a really hard one, a really soft one and a noraml HB, to see what the differents was between them)

another face study, but I was watching the TV at the same time so they ain't as good as the girl faces i did some time back, kinda rushed these.

As promised!!!! The work of travelling by train for a few weeks, and they get better every week. (BTW It takes the train about 15 minutes to travel so i got around ten minutes to draw these thing, first few where drawn with a ballpoint so i couldn't correct anything)

I just turned my the brightness and my contrast of my screen a differnet level and my drawing look worse, i had it al maxed out so turned alot of pic darker to beable to see them, |An example, i posted the last pic witheout being able to see that it was drawn on paper with blue lines, know i can see clearly that it's made on my on schoolpaper instead of sketchook paper.

how do you people see the drawings???

Good start, man! Keep going at this rate, and you'll rock in no time!

You seem to focus on drawing the outline of the stuff you make and then fill in, either that or starting at the head, drawing that and then moving on to the next part.. Might be an idea to do a gesturedrawing, or a loose start.. for example drawing just an oval for the thigh and one for the shin, make the torso a simple shape and so on, just so you can easily see the proportions of things together, and then start going into detail. Makes it easier to correct any mistakes before moving into the detailwork. Oftentimes your different bodyparts don't fit together..

Don't take this as a harsh stomp-down, though

You obviously enjoy drawing very much, so do continue! And you're drawing lots from life which is very good for ya! Trains your eye like nothing else!
