    Tensai Trainsketch Thread

    hi all,

to avoid falling asleep on the train, and to try to improve my drawing, ive been doing one/two minute sketches of peeps sitting around me in the train. i have to work fast because people might get up or move or somebody might go stand in front of them. the train is throwing me around quite a bit and i work with pen so proportion is going to be off some times but its all part of the challenge and fun ihave with these.

i dont ride the train everyday, but ill try to keep this thread going and up to date.

let me know what you think, here are some of the last couple of days:

hey these look great. i love my pocket sketchbook for exactly this reason. Ive found that my drawing skills have improved so much because i draw from life with my sketchbook, plus i can whip it out real quick to doodle something. Great stuff, keep drawing!

Mmm, I'm really enjoying your candid studies. I spent 3 weeks in Japan and I'm feeling all nostalgic now... yay for the JR line!

For being jostled around, your sketches are still very coherent and I get a sense of the indivivual person in each sketch, rather than just the typical facial study. Way to go!

Those are interesting studies. I noticed you have almost no problem with the front view faces, but all your slightly turned faces have some structure problem. Especially the second and third one in your first post. Maybe you could try do more studies on those angles.
