Vancouver Sketchgroup!

Hey, this will be a group effort sketchbook. A bunch of us get together every Sunday to draw our little hands off. Please give us some crits! We all want to get better.

Cool idea! I'd love to be in one of those groups. Anyways, I think you're characters are cool and stylish, but the anatomy needs work. Improving the anatomy of them will only make them look even cooler. So keep at it!

Hey all,
here's todays effort. The uncolored is from the sketch group meeting,and the colored version I just did now...It took me about 5min to color

Thanks guys,glad you like the pic. I will definitely make an effort to post pics after each sketch meeting. Sketch man,no I didn't use reference for this,it was just off the top of my head. The character is for a cover I'm working on for the eatpoo cover contest. Here are my other sketches...

Awesome stuff. I really like that last guy.

I should really come out to one of these sometime. It's just I commute out there every day of the week so I really don't feel like taking the hour drive on the weekend. Maybe the burst of motivation I got from the workshop will help me get out there sometime soon.

Hey sketch,

I really like the old man at the bottom of the 1st page from todays meeting. The best one was that girl in black you had in your sketchbook. I liked that one best. Anyways,heres mine from today. I wasn't really feeling it today,I felt really stiff for some reason...It was great seeing y'all.

Hurricane - I'm not too sure who's pics you're talking about.... this thread has a few different artists posting in it. But thanks for checking it out! And keep coming back because there's going to be a whole lot of different stuff going on in here. Cheers

haha sweet, Angel of Light. I thought Chris was going to kill you if you hummed that song one more time... lol. Watch the jaw line on that character... it's good cause it's giving him character but it's a bit too pushed in. I'm digging it.

thanks man and ya i know what you mean about the jaw, unfortunately the head was theh only part i did in pen without a pencil sketch so i couldn't really fix it up. haha and ya i promise not to be so annoying next time

cool stuff man...I saw that posted in the finished section yesterday. That is a crazy design man. It looks massive. Is that something like a gatling gun? Very cool dude,how long did it take you to do?

Ha ha wicked stuff going on here. I love these multi artist sketchbooks they're fun weeeee. Keeper up dudes. Oh ya were abouts are you guys meeting up I'd like to join up. I should be moving to Van in August to go to Emily Carr for industrial design if they want me. Well later hope to see more updates soon.
