    Talking Amanda's Sketchbook

    Hello, i'm Amanda.
I've been drawing for 4 years now, but 3 years and 6 of those was just of weird mangas.

Now I'm studying a lot of fine arts, and my goal is be a (almost)pro artist in about 4 years.
I created this sketchbook because I don't see improvement anymore, so I came here hoping get some help and absorb everything I can from CA without have to pay for that.

    Thank you.

    Hi Welcome to CA!

It's great that your goal is to go pro in 2 years.
I love your paintings. Especially that last one.
Though with regards to the hand sketches, try to keep the lines to a minimum. Observe closely, and take your time to draw. I've always felt i would learn more that way. Try to see the hands in forms. Break them up into the different angles.. You might start to understand their forms better. XD
That's all I can offer for now. I'm still learning as well! All the best! And keep at it!

Devianatart-like are portraits, but portraits I'm already used to. Anyway..
Sorry, i didn't explain very well: My goal is be able to make money with my art when I be 18 years, and considering how much I improved till now, and that there is nothing holding me back to drawn all day, it seems possible But Thank you.

Thank you. So, I did what you said, spent some time observing the curves and angles (2 minutes each one)

Also, here is a scenery i'm working in. I have some problem with defining the horizon line, but I will fix it today.

Two days without post anything, my pen ink was over, I took a time to found a place to buy a new one.
The house is the assignment from Yoitisi Island, and the heads are all no-reference

Ps.: I hope the images aren't too small

Not a bad sketchbook! Work on that perspective! Sketch cubes a lot, practice 1 point, 2 point and 3 point! and then place the house you just drew, in a cube. You can place anything inside a cube, as long as it has the correct perspective. I drew over your sketch to show what I mean.

I think that you have a lot of motivation, but always stay on your feet also be prepared for critiques!
So...I think you need to study better the hands anatomy, also try to draw from life, it will help you a lot. For drawing man, just...draw man as much as you can.

@Woofy, thank you, but I'm curious, I believe I never seen a 3 persperctive point before, can you tell me how is that? And I've done the house with the metod Yoitisi taught, I didn't sketch the persperctive lines, maybe that is the problem

@Eleyon I'm very used to critiques, don't worry :p So.. I'm already doing some hands and feets here, and in the weekend I will get some mans photos to study. Thank you!
Also, i'm a bit ambitious, sometimes that is a curse, you know?

I am really enjoying your colour choices on a lot of your images. the Woman with the feathers along her hairline really caught my attention when I was first looking.

Thank you guys, and I would love some help jtaart..
So, I'm now back to grayscale paintings, to work more on volumes.. Also, I was going to post some sketchs from my sketchbook, there is a lot of good facees, but everything is so messy that I will do more clean ones.
Those are some paintings I did this week, I give up the first one after getting a bit nervous doing it, that is why it is so rough, the still life I will finish, I promess, I'm just waiting to be alone at home. Ahm, Thank you

This painting is a scene from a book I'm reading. Is a anatomist explaining to his henchmen how to get a corpse
I'm also planning to do still life outside, using gouache, someone have advices? Like which colours should I buy? And brushes?

    Wink

By the last week I've started those two and finished other two still lifes, with gouache, I'm looking for a camera to take a good picture of them..
Well, I would really love some advices on the first one, the head seems too much displaced.
    Thank you

It looks kinda stiff. It also seams to be looking at something we can't see. You might want to try to start it over which is something few artist can do, and most of the time its quicker to start over than trying to doctor a painting.
This is just my opinion, and I'm often wrong.
