    sunsetorchid's s sketchbook

Hey, I've been drawing for about a year and a half and after some advice in another thread, I've decided to get over my shyness and start a sketchbook thread.

I've been drawing a lot of anime stuff, but I want to stop drawing in that style now so I'm going to start figuring our how to draw not in that style.

I'm going to post some art that I have done over the last, about eight months, thanks for any feedback in advance.

Still life from today, I only started doing these recently and I'm doing one every day, I've never done it before finding it pretty difficult but surprisingly enjoyable.

Keep it up with the still lifes and such. Don't be afraid to do any studies for anatomy, either. There's definitely some nice drawings in here, just watch out on some of the proportions. Looking forward to seeing more of what you're doing!

I'm still working on still life, I drew a bunch of cubes, but I wont upload pages of cubes so I will just upload some, there's some gesture and perspective, the rest is just random doodles.

I really like the skeleton study from your first post! Good studies, keep up the hard work! It looks like you're into the figure, so I recommend doing lots of figure drawing exercises! Try doing quick 1-minute poses; they help loosen up your drawings and give them lots of movement! And have fun! Keep up the drawing! : D

Hey, thanks for the feedback, I'll get onto those figure studies! I would also like to learn creatures, landscapes and things like vehicles too, but I'll stick with the fundamentals and figure at the moment.

I also checked out your sketchbook, I like all the figures and paintings they were great!

I haven't updated in a while because I got a little frustrated and haven't really drawn much but i'm feeling ready to get started once again and I thought I would update my sketchbook to get me started again.

I decided to draw 100 faces to get my hand moving again i'm up to 14 now, I quickly threw them all into one document so that I didn't need to upload 14 separate files. I have to say i'm kind of disappointed with them, I thought I would be able to do better, but I guess I just need to work harder! and the rest is just random stuff I sketched in between drawing faces.

Some more faces, I feel i'm getting a bit lazy with them now, I tried to draw some sort of hover vehicle thing, but it looked off so I started practicing perspective, and I tried drawing the stand of a lamp in my house.
