    nim: Try exaggerating your poses, that will make them more dynamic and help them to read more clearly, for example you might make your apathy figure really slumped over and sitting and have your excitement character over-animatedly trying to drag apathy up by the arm to take him exploring or something. also both of your figures are reading as female at the moment, don't forget that one needs to be male.

    ChaosTheory: I think the healthy character is already starting to work well, but the other character isn't as clear, you could really push how emaciated he looks, or have him doubled over and puking. Keep in mind that they need to be actual monarchs not just paragons of the things they represent.

    BozoTheClown: Check your proportions and anatomy, the arms on your Justice figure don't currently look like they're attached to his body, although if he's supposed to be a robot or something then it's not really an issue, but if thats the case you might consider showing the shoulder joint so he reads more robot-ish.

    jPerols: Really awesome work so far, Autumn looks fantastic. i can't wait to see where you take spring!

    thumbs and such. havin' a blast with this one already!

    @Drayner
    You got so many cool ideas and you show them very nice. I think the woman in bottom right is my favourite.
    @BozoTheClown
    A bit early to crit. I think you should look up some refs for the anatomy.
    I like that he is drawn of straight lines and she is drawn with curves that gives them a different look.
    @Tawnos
    That´s great looking forward to se it finished
    @ChaosTheory
    Nice idea. But I think you can push it more. Perhaps have him standing be hid her.
    @nim
    I like the start. And agree with Drayners crit.
    @Pixeltuner
    Very nice as always.
    @jsn
    I think you can do her a bit more feminine
    @ChromaticCodex
    I recognise my self in your picture. I think most people have this character struggling them self.
    @NickyBeats
    Good Idea I think you can push that a lot.
    @Suneater
    The silhouette is looking good. I think you can to a nice opposite of her.

    Dranyer you are inspiration! not only for the concepts you pull off, but also because is great to see the process. Is cool and usefull to see how you explore a lot of ideas first in terms of silhouettes, develop some, and then you pick the best ones to polish. I'm lacking inspiration lately as to participate, but eventually i'll try to aproach concepts in a similar aproach, wich just seem to be the most logical and solid way to go. Thanks for sharing.

    Wow. Some of these are amazing, figured I'de throw mine in, trying a fair few opposites in each, but may be a bit confusing. Cliché King of Life, Queen of Death.

    Pixeltuner, jPerols, Dranyer:

    In a desperate attempt to try to work on more than just creatures, here's my lines for the queen, decided to go for war and peace! A few things I wanna change include the arm with the stragetically hidden hand(laziness), the design of her crown, and I also want to add more to her outfit; jewels, gloves, etc...
    man I don't draw nearly enough drapery, those wrinkles and folds x_x

    Dranyer I love those silhouettes. How quickly do you draw one of them?

    Janjager Awesome interpretation of the idea.

    Rob_Powell Nice clean lines man. The folds on the clothing aren't as bad as you think although like sony mentioned the shoulder seems a bit odd to me, take another look at it perhaps.

    Sony What did you draw those with? The design on the King of Feast is awesome, in particular his costume, I totally get that rich-noble-esque party-er feel. I think you could play up the sickly aspect of starvation on the queen a little bit more.

    Keep 'em coming people, these are great.

    Annnnnd, I'm slowly fleshing these buggers out. The chaos gals eyes bug me, but perhaps they fit her.

    Ah, thanks guys.

    jsn: I think you should look over the anatomy a bit before going to far with the colours. For example the far arm of both of them doesn't really make any sense to me. Or it's more the whole positioning of them.

    ChaosTheory: Looks good so far man. But I would like to see you push it further, right now it's more or less a woman working out and a pretty wasted guy. Like showing more of health vs alcohol other than their actions.

    nim: Have to agree with Dranyer. Looking forward to seeing more.

    Tawnos: Yeah sure, I can fix that. Heh, and it's actually the male that is spring.

    Dranyer: Oh yeah, like all of them but 25 gotta be my favorite. And the horned guy at the bottom with the Popeye forearms, and the the woman at the bottom right.

    JanJager: Looking good, even if I can't quite figure out what the opposites are.

    Jaik Hah yeah, life/death was the first thing that came to mind when I read the topic. I was wondering when someone was going to do it.

    Rob Powell: The drapery looks pretty good to me, just one part on the left side of her waist that doesn't look quite right to me. And I agree with the others about the shoulders.
    I haven't seen many characters from you so great that you joined in. Ans she looks hot.

    sony: Looking sweet, I would like to see you try pushing even more personality into those poses.

    BozoTheClown: Yeah she looks a bit squint-eyed atm.

    Well, keep on truckin everybody.

    Amazing topic. I'm worried this might be too ambitious for my skill level but I'm thinking of doing something based around hot vs cold or fire vs ice.

    I'll post wips soon.

    There is so much creativity in here I can't help but feel humbled.

    Here's my first draft on heat or fire. I suppose the last one represents the actual theme and the others are just...cheesy and don't really make sense. I'm feeling a bit dry atm.

    Anyway, I'm thinking she is sitting on a charred throne. Will start workiing her opposite when I have my design.

    @Drayner
    I like the sketch you made of the dude with the spears coming out of the back. Not sure what he represents aside from badassery, but I like it. 27 and 17 caught my eye as well, just because they seemed a bit different from the bipedal other silhouettes.

    @Sony
    I like the idea but the concept really seems to need pushing to come through, since I would have had no idea what they were without the descriptions. Finds some references of anorexic women to push the queen and make the king look REALLY" well fed. Maybe a bunch of rotted, uneaten food around the starvation queen? Just some thoughts. Keep rolling!

    @Pixeltuner
    I like where its going.

    @jPerols
    Utterly fantastic. So freaking good. Maybe throw a few fall leaves around ol King Autumn?

    @Christoffer
    Don't be humbled or intimidated, be inspired! Worst case scenario you lose the challenge and have a lot of fun doing so! As for your concepts I agree the last one is definitely the best. However, I don't think you have to ditch armor entirely. What if you went with the bottom right one and made some clothing, etc out of fire? Like a fiery crown or specter or something? Might be a cool way to blend.

    So here's a sketch of my concept for Life vs. Death. Death is bony, diseased, and probably going to be part machine somehow. Life is young, pregnant, and surrounded by baby animals! Also she has plants on her. I'm actually thinking of incorporating some bird themes into them somehow, which really came up when I started on death and I used those medieval plague masks as a starting point. Let me know how its working! ROCK ON EVERYONE!
