What is your favorite animated short ever?

It would be awesome to see what everyone thinks are the greatest animated shorts. Gotta link?

I am still deciding what one to choose! So many! What do you think yours is?

    Favorite ever? That's really tough!

I know I like these two a lot, but I'm probably missing out on a few great ones I've seen in the past years.

Love this new section by the way.

    Skhizein
Visually nice with a brilliant but bizarre storyline and concept

    Frankie Rulez!!!
Amazing colors in an inventive world with nice and playful animation

    Combat Instinct: Unregulated
I've always been a fan of McFretN since the original Combat Instinct was released twelve years ago, and would love to see something new from this guy.
    Metropolis Circuit
As much as I love this cartoon for the animation and music; the creator, Rtil, is not someone that people should look up to. (Long, sordid story that I'm not in the mood to tell.)
    The Jam by Matt Begneaud
Great animation and music with no pretense from Lafayette, La.

Dimension bomb by Koji Morimoto. I watched this animation so many times and it still mesmerizes me.

Duck!Rabbit!Duck! by Chuck Jones was my favorite animated short. Personality of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck were well-exposed in that Animated Video Production. It was one of the most amazing animated shorts ever made.

There are so many amazing shorts out there, it's hard to choose!
But at the end of the day, there's one that always stands out to me.

This is part of a longer animation called Minnie the Moocher which is well worth a watch, but its the striking modernity and coolness of this part which stands out in my memory.
This is about 85 years old.

Oh Elwell, this is my all time favorite too and I love how they hinted to that in Monsters Inc! Oh man there are so many genius ones from Merrie Melodies...

"What's Opera, Doc?" Merry Melodies, directed by Chuck Jones

(not the best version but the most complete I could find)
Here it is, better framed and better quality.

I think these cartoons made me appreciate classical music at an early age.

It's really hard to settle just to one Jason...

I'll just whisper some of my more recent ones picks... tee-hee!

"The Saga of Biorn" by Animation Workshop

"Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty" by Brown Bag Films. The voice acting of Kathleen O'Rourke just slayed me in this one.

check out the past years oscar short animation nominees and winners too!

This one made a big big impression on me. I saw it this summer when I was travelling trough east-europe on the animation festival in Krakov. I can`t seem to find it in the complete version. If anybody finds the link and posts it here, i would be very grateful.

    A brilliant and emotional animation

    Another very stylish one.

SO many great comedy shorts it's hard to pick, Warner bros Directors Jones and Avery nailed so many.

Not sure if this counts as a short but
"The Man who planted Trees" is 1 of my all time favorites animated films
