New World Creation: Designers Wanted – Environment of the Week
First time I'm participating in this section, but I will sure do it again. Had so much fun with this challenge
My concept is pretty simple: The hurricane of sand and dust hunting some lokal hunters, who desperately try to run for shelter.
Critique are highly welcome!
I tried to keep in mind above all else that this was an environment without getting too carried away with the story.
Nomads gonna roam.

Not happy with it and damn my penchant towards saturation...I really need to start toning sh!t down. Oh well it is what it is..

Final
Here is my final. Ran out of time (and talent)
A unexpected sandstorm occured during the balloon race people was forced to head back to the city to be protected from the vicious storm. Anyone who is caught in the eye of the storm will experience disorientation, severe injuries, or in rare cases death.
so here´s my final too, thanks for all the comments again, I learned a lot with the other images thanks to your comments, but i stick with this one at the end
Level 1 Gladiator: Andabatae
Inspired by Frank Herbert's Dune

Level 1 Gladiator: Andabatae
I described the derelict craft for escaping sandstorm.

Approach For my interpretation of this topic I decided that I wanted to show pure enviroment without any living thing for comparsion of
size (also because this bares tendency to end up with an illustration). So my challenge was to somehow still provoke a sence of scale
and overpowering size.
In turn this pondering (as a non-digitalist I only get one shot ha!) meant the final sketch's traveller and mount were dumped, format
changed to a very narrow window. Small patches of blue (top right) are reminiscent of sky and act as frame. A dark cloud causes the
viewer's eye to wander back and forth to the top, like one would trying to outrun a storm.
Art description In a desert of no distinct location a vast sandstorm is approaching. Chasing grains of sand over dunes. It's forefront
swallows some dark clouds that belong to the thunderstorm which created it. And while it exhibits beauty the danger of it's destructive
power cannot be denied.
Media Acrylics on paper (479x152mm)
and here is my final:

Tuner people, not Turner.
A mind that wanders so much, it brings back souvenirs.

I swear, it's not a Sandcrawler™!
Oh, um, backstory. Uh...justice in the desert is harsh.

Level 4 Gladiator: Meridiani
Hello, great work everybody! Again I was thinking about decrepit structures in the middle of a desert.
Really wanted to tweak this more, but I dont wanna miss the poll.
Sandstorms are frequent in Ridge City, and most people escape the harsh winds by spending their time indoors pursuing digital pastttimes.
