    Nikola's sketchbook

Well, haven't really been on much but Im starting my own beginner sketchbook anyways. Most of my stuff is digital, and ill try to post as often as I can.

For starters ill post some past stuff that I have done.

Earlier stuff is first, later stuff is last

I have a deviantart page, but I dont post much stuff on it anymore.

    Painted the horsehead nebula yesterday

Is there a way to use spoiler tags or thumbs for larger images? I have some other pictures that look best at a bigger resolution, but I dont want to page stretch the thread.

Another nebula in the same kind of style

I need to start focusing more on content to go in these scenes instead of the scenes themselves. Any pointers on drawing mechanical objects, such as space ships?

Love those nebulas! I hope this doesn't sound rude, but do you have a custom brush for those stars or do you do them by hand? They look very precise.
Check out my sketchbook! Socially acceptable opportunity to yell at a teenage girl!

Well not really a custom brush, and more just a lot of duplication. I make like 2 or 3 base stars from scratch using photoshop and then I copy the stars a lot, varying the size and opacity and sometimes the color. If its from a reference, then I usually try to get the stars fairly accurate to the reference. For some reason they look more... right that way.
