I went from violin to lute got inspired when I saw the back of what would appear to be most lutes they have a bunch of segmented looking pieces which got me thinking. I tried referencing Arabic and medieval clothes but it comes off more Arabic than anything else, and she is holding the case for her lute and it would seem I forgot to render it oh well I'm sleepy. I think I might call it quits on this one and go practice more tho. Any comments critiques are appreciated.

mcreation thanks for commenting I had ideas for her costume, but I hadn´t thought about doing some research on real bards. I will think about it.

mat kaminsky--like the concept, but is the radio really an instrument, i though about that and dropped, because it felt that it wasnt really an instrument, but more of a "music box", maybe turning it into a dj table, with vinyls as weapons, or something like that, hope that you dont take my commentary in the wrong way, is just my opinion, or maybe im wrong and it is really a dj table

heres some ideations from me. goin for a dj/b-boy sort of dude. gonna give him a dune-buggy/golfcart thing equipped with vinyl decks and mounted machine guns hope that counts as an instrument/weapon?

I'm thinking, how he gonna hide that jumbo keytar when he supposed to go stealth?

Here's what I'm working on. The first thing that popped into my head was some kind of turkish post-apocalyptic setting. His bouzouki is also a bazooka.

Hey everyone!

Hmm... gone kind of cyber punk... I think I'm going to fix a bayanet to the guitar or summint. I'm having trouble with the face (I always do) if anyone's got any suggestions.

PixelTuner, I like the ref, a really bizzare mishmash. It doesn't scream dystopian future at me though. Maybe a bit more tech... or less tech might help.

Mcreation. Nice ideas. I like the thumb on the far left of that page too. Good simple pose. Maybe focus on the character before jumping in wit ha whole scene.

Mat Kaminski, I likr the sound gun. V badass.

Barefoot, yeah noise marines are cool! deffo feeling that influence.

mcreation- Thanks for the suggestion! I decided to go with that scabbard idea. Makes a lot more sense, haha.

Anyways, linework is done. Currently laying down some color palettes to see what I like best.

Didn't get to work alot on it today, a few corrections and tweaks so she looked more "wastelandy" and the backview, following Witcrack's idea of doing the modelsheet first (I never do it)

Kinda in a hurry so I'll leave some crits for tomorrow =p

Throwing around some ideas, still have a bunch of notes to add in, also trying to stylise a bit, (longer limbs, smaller trunk etc) except I dont really know how yet lol. Instrument is churiken cymbals.. Not sure if I like them yet.

heres a sketch of a kinda cartoonish guy, exaggerated proportions a bit in neck and head area(big neck, small head-) not sure it works though, probably doesnt work but its worth a shot.

theres alot of doom axing going on.

DUKE- I like how it is building, he looks like an old guy from the Rolling Stones already.

Witcrack - I think the legs are a little too long, the knee position seems ok, but the shins and feet are too big. The head seems small aswell. I really like the character though, seems like a cocky bruce campbell. rock on.

Herah - YES! awesome idea, love the bells on boots aswell. I get an instant recognition of the character. I think the strong geometric angles make this quite dynamic. Im not good at those at all so good start dude.

Lagarto - Persevere with the violin, you have put together a really good, dunesque, solid character. No crits or suggestions as you are doing great already, make it work but give yourself a break. Violins are TOUGH!

VictorQ - Real solid, tank girl vibe. flesh this out, its looking good. Seeing the back is really cool aswell. I also like the concept, alot.

Sorry if I missed anyone, just quick comments really.

Im thinking of a drone instument that could expell toxic gases as part of funeral,pilgramage type thing. Got other instruments in mind, will sketch those out too.

Barefoot I think that you have a solid idea. I'm looking forward on seeing how you turn that bagpipe into a weapon!

Lagarto Really nice pose going on, and that face is very authentic!

Ironbyte Awesome axe and headpiece! I do feel like her upper body is in movement, while the lower is static. Maybe that's just me.

Tomercs You can never go wrong with that mohawk. It feels as the back of the skull is way to large though? The face needs to be more proportional to the skull I think.

Dranyer I'd go with two as well. Looks a tad like Scarecrow!

blazingdimensions The neck area works, but I don't think that the head does. Might be the floating hat!

UCT - Thanks, I first thought of a harp idea that could be a bow an arrow. So then I started thinking of Native American ideas when I first started to sketch. As it developed though, it started to take on more of a 'rocker' look.

You, are totally right, it is starting to appear like Keith Richards.

With yours is that some poison gas that he is able to release with the press of a key? Or sequence of key strokes?
