That's actually a very cool idea, and one I had never thought of. Unfortunately, I don't believe it would be able to work. As far as I am aware (perhaps Aksel or someone else can chime in), there is a limited amount of space for the code for the badges. Even getting it to display multiple badges from different challenges can be tricky (I think the badges for the CHOW and COW are hosted elsewhere from the other badges to have shorter code), so I think it would be next to impossible to get it to link somewhere.

that should be a link to google... so i'm assuming it wouldn't be as easy as img code and hyperlink. ^

Yep, that would've been really awesome. But as the space for the html has a limited amount of characters, it's not possible as of right now. Though another problem would be multiple stars and linking each individual tiny star to different pieces being kind of a hassle.

But who knows what'll be possible when 4.0 swings around.

That's a great idea Sporus. I second Nyctalgia, while they can't do it now it could be possible in the upcoming 4.0 update. Also, does anyone else have trouble seeing certain badges? Most of the time I blame it on the page not loading properly, but with the Illustration of the Week badges in particular, they don't show up at all a lot of the time, other than a broken image symbol. I've seen questions about it in a couple of threads before, but haven't seen an overall fix for it, for example by hosting it somewhere else.

On that subject Nyctalgia, I won IOW a couple of weeks ago, and would like a badge next time you're handing them out. Thanks much.

Yeah I hear you guys, and of course I can only give advice that's more about the aesthetic than the actual hard programming.

But I wouldn't link the tiny stars, the badge as a whole, stars and all would link to a gallery, and many ideas could be thrown around as for what to put in the gallery.

again i realise that HTML is out of my understanding atm lol, but yeah. Should I post this in a suggestions thread?

I just wanted to get my idea out there, glad you guys like it. As long as it gets through somehow. Idk whose exactly in charge of this stuff.

also Choob yeah some badges are glitching out, saw a thread in support about that. It just shows up as a broken image icon. I'm sure someones working on it.

hey guys. i wasnt sure where to post this. but i found this the most apropriate place.

seems that theres a problem with the badges. its showing up like that to every profile exept Choobs.
tried both chrome and safari, same problem

Sadly, this is a known issue. To some users all the badges appear fine (to me, for example) but to others they appear broken. We're not quite sure what's causing this, but I have my theories.

Can you see your badge now?

I can't, tried looking through my cellphone, chrome and IE. Didn't appear in any of them :/

I believe I have located the problem. Now I'll just have to manually update each badge. We'll see if it works then.

Nope, the links works, as I and many other forum members can see them. I believe the parsing of the URLs creates a gap in the userbase, thus not allowing a share of the userbase to see them.

Problem with permissions and CA. I've changed to code to fix it, but I still have to manually redo every single badge. Right now I just started at a new workplace so don't have the time, I'll get to it eventually

Should be able to see mine now too.
