Has anyone been to PAX?

As in PAX Dev or PAX Prime?

If so do they usually have developers give speeches about working in the gaming industry? Or even booths where I can talk to designers or artists in person?

I've never been to pax but i can say i've heard good things about it. If you had questions about the game industry or wanted to talk to artists, this might be a good place to get questions answered

PAX is really great, second favorite convention after comic con. A lot of developers are present when they are showcasing new games and in their booths. I don't think its the best way to meet artists, but I sure youll find many.

This is coming from a guy that attends PAX just as a fanboy.

my boyfriend is on his 5th PAX, and he told me theres some Devs there. He's never really talked to them.

Went the last PAXprime in 2011. There are some Q&A's with current developers in the hotels next to the convention center. It all depends on what the lineup is for that year.
