Time to wake up and be more active. Here is today's take from imagination, inspired by latest lesson with Jason Manley and Zhang Lu:

A second take to make a portrait of this character, the first sketch attached on the left. I painted it more in 2009, but don't like the result thus take#2. I may treat it as a WIP or a concept, haven't decided yet. Jan 2009 face concept:

Looks like you're working hard. I really like that Reubens study.

Try to loosen up some — those scribbly pencil lines aren't pretty and (if you're like me) they'll confuse you when you're trying to bring a piece to a finish. Try drawing with pen for a few weeks to force yourself to build confidence.

Finalizing this one. I know I overdone details, can't drop them now. Or maybe can, but still want to see what if I do all (though I have problem with the snake ). In any case I still have the old variant. Image started a year ago, both variants:

Cool sketchbook i can see signs of improvement which is really good!, i suggest working on your brush economy, focus on the big picture then worry about details but youre making great progress one can only expect more!
