Topic: The Pipes of the Pied Piper
Deadline: Sunday, July 15
I am sure most of you are familiar with the tale of the Pied Piper. If not, go find a copy, or if you are feeling particularly lazy, check out the link below. To summarize, there was a rat infestation in Hamelin. The villagers hired a man who claimed to be able to get rid of all of them for a price. He did as bid, however he was not paid in full. For revenge, he lured the children of the town away and drowned them in a river (or in other versions they were returned them after he was paid more, but let's stick to the first version for now).
To lure both the rats and children, he used a set of musical pipes. There is speculation as to whether the story is a metaphor for plague or children's crusades which may or may not be the case. However I am sure we can all agree that pipes that can both lure children and rats away must be magical. Your task is to design these magical pipes. Keep in mind their rather morbid purpose while designing. All styles and times are allowed.
