Hey all, I'm Jess and I like to do the drawing thing.
I actually had a sketchbook before this, but it went abandoned so I'm kind of forcing myself to make a new one and get rolling with those studies haha.
Critiques and tips are greatly appreciated!

Some 30 sec gestures from posemaniacs
sketchbook. Struggling so much with hands sob
Sketches are looking really good, especially for a 16 year old, hope to see more.
my sketchbook- http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...=235313&page=3
really cool, have you tried doing environments?
will123will: thank you. x)
Stpete: yeah environments is something that I really lack in so I gotta do some studies on that
Colour study, ref used. (from Doctor Who, because I can haha)
Tried not to use the colour picker tool, but it was too hard sob Q___Q
I like your faces quite a bit! They are detailed, but still retain a nice painterly feel!
I think you might be better off checking out some of the other gesture tools like pixel lovely or love castle. They are the same thing, only with photos. There's just something very stiff about the poses from Posemaniacs... Which, of course, is exactly what you don't want in your gesture drawings.
Isn't doctor who fun, though? I binge on that show every once in awhile. So many episodes to watch!
Also, edit: I noticed the thread title for the first time. Are you an Avatar far? I looooove that show.Korra has been really exciting to watch too...

Syrella: thank you! yeah I gotta start doing gestures from real photos! yes I've been obsessively watching Doctor Who as of late hehe. And whoot! and Avatar fan! /highfive Korra is great so far.
Well school is slowly eating me so it's getting hard for me to find time to draw haha;;;
Uhmm some Tony Stark or Robert D. Junior haha
nice start, really liked those sketchbook pages you posted on #3, the photo study came out great, keep 'em coming!
great start
i like seeing more teens on here
for your 30 s gestures I can see that they're off in terms of anatomy which is why they're looking like that. Instead of trying 30, why not extend the time a bit more? 50s (i think that's one of the options) and try to focus on getting the form and anatomy down instead of going fast
also some studies in terms of proportions/anatomy from a bammes/bridgeman etc would greatly help
keep it up![]()
Duplicitious: yup anatomy is something I definitely need to work at. Thank you!
Gpozzo: thank you very much!
needs more work needs more work
i like figure paints![]()
DragonLe: thanks!
So it looks like my shitty phone camera is giving all my sketchbook paper a rainbow hue... after much consideration I have decided it's... magic....
So anyway yeah I'm starting to realise how much I need to work on my enviros... at least I didn't use the colour picker tool for once! /fist pump
Hehehe, Avatar fan yes? And Korra. And Doctor Who. Those are only three of my favorite shows ever.
But wow, your studies are looking great! Loving the Leyendecker and Avengers sketches too. c:
Beautiful stuff, I wish I could paint like that and I'm twice your age. You Aussies pack a lot of talent.
Wow really awesome stuff here! Your pencil drawings looks nice c:
and you're just 16? oO Damn I really have a long way to go.
Whimsnicole: oh my gosh you are now the coolest person. Thank you!
rajeshB: haha, thank you! (x
Fiskepudding: age doesn't really matter though because in the end it's all the same. But thank you very much!
Until a short while ago I had this artblock, but after discovering music by Patrick Wolf I am RE-INSPIRED
doop I feel guilty of not doing real studies, I'll start on that soon.
Nice updatesReally liking that dragon, keep working on anatomy, keep it up, i'd like to see more!
