favourite brushes/custom brushes

The Large Portion of shapes are created with a tools called "Pattern Chalk" that is exclusive to Corel Painter. Pattern Chalk combined with a vast library of shapes he has collected. As ArtZealot mentioned as well that Zbrush is a good potion on the process as well.
These effect can be imitated in photoshop to a certain degree, but for the most part... never close enough as far as Ive always heard.
His Demo's in the download section have explinations, demonstrations about these tools and how he sets them up. Quite original and impressive.

I would say the contrary to be honest.. Photoshop can emulte pretty well what happens in Painter, and maybe IMO i think it's easier to come up with certain effects. Also people need to remember that in Photoshop, you can make your own brush shape, and make it very big as well (1000x1000 if you like), that way you can create very crisp details for your work, no matter what size of brush you use.

For the longest time I've tried to stay away from using special brushes for painting and drawing, trying to get proficient with just the round brush, but using some of these custom brushes makes my work look so much more credible!

I wonder how often people are using custom brushes!

Make the custom brushes yourself, then you can feel like a little bit less of a cheat =3 since it is still technically all your own work.

Can somebody tell me how to set brush-shortcuts with the F-buttons?? I used the search, yes, i even used google, but I cant find anything! I thought that Id seen a thread about this somewhere on CA....
Id realllly appreciate some help.

You have to record an action of picking the brush, then the action can be set to an Fkey.

Okay, this may seem like a stupid question, but how do I download the brushes on the first page? It just says "Attachments Pending Approval" next to the zip files, and there's no download link...

Thought I would share a couple brushes I'm trying out. They are proportion guides you can just stamp into an image, so you don't have to drag guides out. One is for faces and the other is for figures. The idea is to have a rough guide and by no means should they be relied on as concrete, but I thought they were helpful.

Let me know what you think. Dumb idea, good idea, how I should tweak them. Whatever.

I'm a big fan of the default round brush, and usually when I need some sort of texture I just download a brush because I'm lazy. But I also love angles, so I occasionally make things like this.
