    Practicing the mouth

Practicing the anatomy of the mouth. Any feedback/suggestions? I think it looks pretty good but there's always room for improvement.

Your painting is too soft. Using hard brushes wouldn't be a good idea IMO. A mouse closeup is much more sharper, the surroundings are really sloppily drawn. The corners are vague. I find the mouth too shiny smooth but you have some idea about it, that shows, there are tiny folds and it's not flat either.
Study and draw mouthes more. You have a nice high resolution 3d one that can see in the mirror, even if that's not such full, maybe, it still can teach you a lot. But you probably know that.

Yeah, its flat no sense of light and form.To reveal the forms you have to draw their volumes and have a single direct light source. Look at this beautiful drawing by Fechin

The trickiest part of the mouth for people to understand is the corners, where the edges of the lips soften and all the forms wrap around.

Yes, it's challenging. I guess I was so focused on the actual lips that I ignored the rest. Hopefully with more practice I'll get there... someday...
