    I have a newbish question.

What style of drawing/shading is this? It almost seems painter like and I love it.

Yeah peeps! A few new drawings from this past weekend. All 25 minutes.

I've got a class coming up, starting this Thursday in Maple Valley, WA. http://www.maplevalleyarts.com

Also, I've gotten ahold of a proof copy of my book, which I am about to self publish. For those of you who enjoy my drawings, it will be released, hopefully, at the beginning of next month!

Kino- I couldn't really say if it has a style name. It is more linear, rather than tonal, other than that, it's an accumulation of my influences and practice.

Evan, Collin, mattlinz, thank you guys for the kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a little encouragement.

SKmop- Hey, I am really happy to hear that you enjoyed the workshop. It was really fun to put it on for you guys. It's exciting for me to pass on some real art instruction to kids, since I didn't feel like I ever got any. Thanks for saying so!

    SarSengo, Thanks!

Hey peeps, I'm just about to release (self-publish) my own book on drawing, and for the book I have made a video on how to sharpen the charcoal pencil. Feel free to check it out.

    Hey Peeps,

Been very busy with a lot of projects, hope to have some stuff to update shortly, but the book has been released!

If you enjoy my drawings, the book is filled with some in print, and tons of fundamentals in relation to how I draw the way I draw. If you want to learn, I've laid it out as simply as possible!

You can even preview a few pages there on Amazon. Hope it can help you!

Thanks for the kind words, peeps.

For the most part, I try to shade around the highlights. It all depends though. If the shading around the highlights needs to be in a particular direction, maybe it is best to shade over and erase? I don't necessarily do one thing all the time. As you'll see if you buy the book, my way of thinking is more on principle, less on strict rules.

There's not necessarily one single way to end up at the result you want. By developing your skills, you'll develop the abilities to get the results you want.
