Cintiq 24 vs 21

Okay, so my old intuos 3 large is finally starting to show it's age, and after 7 or 8 years of use I'm considering going up to the big boys. Now I know the specs between the 2, technically speaking. And after a week or two of research I'm still trying to decide between the 2 cintiq.
I'm going to be looking into a local retailer (Anyone know a good one near Chilliwack, BC? I imagine there should be at least 1 or 2 in Vancouver) so I can actually test them out for myself but I'd like any input you kind people would care to throw my way.
The price difference can be quite large and I'm wondering if the extra resolution will make a huge difference. Along with the feel of the screen itself (which I hear mostly comes down to opinion, and I'll know more about when I actually test them).

I'm not super heavy on keyboard shortcuts, though I do like them and I hear the 24 has pretty much no room for a keyboard. I like the idea of being able to swivel the screen too, but with software turning in photoshop and I believe built in...doesn't seem like a huge issue.

Also the screen itself, I know there are 3rd party protectors, but looking at those and the application of putting them on...not something I'd consider. I've heard people have used these for years 8 hours a day with nary a problem so I have little to worry about I would hope.

I had asked this question about a week or 2 ago.... I went with the 24hd and I just recieved it today. It is MASSIVE but it's insanely awesome!!!! I love the stand as I can adjust it many ways to my comfort. There is a scroll wheel that allows you to rotate the paper so that wasn't a huge deal. The extra real estate is definetely worth the investment I am very happy with my purchase. Mine doesn't have any dead pixels or overheating etc.. I couldn't be happier with it.

Yeah I was reading through your thread when I was doing research. Glad to hear the 24hd is working out for you. Still waiting on a response from the place that sells them locally so I can go check it out.

I upgraded from the 21UX DTK to the 24HD. I always felt a bit cramped on the 21UX in Maya with any panels open. The 24HD was a huge upgrade for me. I love it. But its HUGE!

When i first saw the online video from Wacom about it i thought yeah sure, they bowflexed it (got a small person to use it in the demo to make it look bigger than it actually is)..boy was i wrong.

You better have a lot of desk real estate for it. But you are going to love it. Its a fantastic tablet.
