I'm 30, living on the west coast of the United States, and I would like to become a concept artist (maybe focusing on sci-fi) but am clueless about where I currently stand and appreciate this chance to have my stuff looked at and to get advice. I have been working professionally for 6 years although most of that has been more in a production or logistical role rather than a pre-production concept role (model turnarounds, shader plans, carpet bombing the internet for reference, etc) so I'm not very developed as an illustrator. I am currently unemployed but have a small savings buffer and, aware that the concept art field is pretty crowded with friggin amazing talent, I have joined a mod team to try to learn 3d modeling and Unreal Developer Kit to augment my skills (although I have a suspicion that there is no shortage of amazing-talented people who can concept, model, texture and rig props as well..).
Thank you for your time,

PS- At this point, I'm pretty sure I won't get reviewed, but I think I've learned enough from the reviews of others' portfolios that I know what I've got to work on. So, while not specific to me, the reviews have been super-helpful. Thank you!
