WoofyDesigns' Sketchbook! (Cars, Landscape & Life)

    Hello

I have been drawing on and off for ages but have only gotten serious with it this year.
I am 16, I enjoy drawing cars and I am getting in to painting environments.

Please feel free to comment or critique any of my works.

    Cheers, WoofyDesigns

A few landscape studies done today and yesterday. 20 minutes roughly each. Am learning alot about where to place the light and shadows. Still need more and more practice not that it ever stops!

Aswell as anatomy studies/60 second poses.

Critique for anything I need to improve on!

    Cheers, WoofyDesigns

Hello, I would back off the pencil, it looks like you got a choke hold on it, I am going to guess by the line work that you have the pencil griped at almost the very tip, also sharpen the pencil or you tend to loose control. The dull pencil my also be caused by the death grip you have , you will not have to sharpen as often if you loosen up and back off the tip. I could be wrong, I am mainly talking about the head studies.
Practice drawing the details. Draw what you see, looks like you are drawing what you think you see (IE Eyelashes do not go all the way around the bottom of an eye, and are very faint there). Draw from observation and trust your gut, dont correct things because of preconceved notions of what something looks like, draw what it looks like, loosen up a bit and have fun.

Updated version of the mountain piece to add more vibrancy. Environmental studies 10-20mins each, and some from imagination.

Update! Loomis, sketches, speed paints and studies! Memorizing the planes of Loomis male head! I have found that this is probably the best way to learn (for me!), just doing a direct copy from the book then doing my own version, if it turns out shit, then I just copy again, and rinse and repeat until I am somewhat satisfied. At least I got something achieved today, I now have memorized the "Secondary planes" of the head to an extent. Now I gotta start rotating and flipping and just fixing it in to my brain so I will never forget! Can't wait for the day to finally gain the knowledge to be able to create somewhat good looking/realistic heads from my mind and I am sure it won't be too far off if I work really hard!

    Keep working hard everyone!
