wow.. goin hardcore on the studies hey.. keep this and you should improve pretty fast. Onl,y noticed a few problems.. on most of the ones on the bottom ouple of pages the arms are very long... normally the hand rests on the top bit of thigh really. Always try and trhink about ure proportions aswell.. like the body (for an average man) is about 8 heads tall and then stuff like the upper leg is 2 heads and the lower leg is about 1.5 heads.
Also.. try and get an anatomy book (u can view Loomis's anatomy books on the internet at www.saveloomis.org ) or something there normally really good for doing work with reference 4 stuff and ull improve fast. Also when u get to grips with basic anatomy and proportions try and get ure characters into more positions.. even if its just working on them from the side or back or 3/4 angles, ure notive the difference.
Keep up all this work and ull improve fast, hope to see more soon.
thanks man for viewing my sketch book... i will take your points in mind... slowly ya.. give me time to look at it more and hopefully ill produce a better pic
peace
hey man, its great to see someone else working from loomis, just keep studying your proportions man, you'll see improvments in your figures in no time![]()
It's a nice start, now keep drawing, maybe try to have a rythm![]()
great to see you started a sketchbookkeep the updates coming in yea

hey thanks for the support ppl... i noe its kinda slow but i wanna get it right (as least make it look right to me) b4 i move on....
Kondor- hey man, thanks.. ill keep it coming.. peace
Yina- no girl u dun get paid, but in return u get free nuggets and satisfaction that someone you helped is improving haha. also you practice too so u wun slack behind![]()
great stuff so far
but iam missing the third-dimension .. u should always keep this in ur head*awareness ..and try draw bodys from diffrent views
this helps u to gain awareness for its forms*volumes
after u can aquire the volume adding light and shadow will be much easier
.. light always flows across the objects volume
i practiced it with drawing cubes and boxes .. cylinders
after a while my skill to aquire the volume and objects - allignment and orientation in 3d space was just boosted up.. just becaus i drew lotsa boxes *3-4 month... more then 4hours evry day*
a cube is the most simple form with a 3dimensional volume * x y z axis *
on paper you only have 2 dimensions * x and y *
in reality .. or whatever this is.. you have 3 .. x y z
we cant draw 3d on a 2d medium.. but we can indicate and or create the illusion "look like"
we use foreshortening and perspectiv deformation to create that illusion
.. i think .. perspectiv is the most complex thing i ever heard of
360 degrees and 360 possibilatys to draw evry single objects...
.. 129xxx diffrent ways to draw 1 object O_O
when u know this.. lots of stuff is easier to draw because ur ability to aquire objects and its volumes * forms * shapes is much better without that training the next step is learning anatomy ..
when u look at ur arm.. u see its boarders.. and ur skin.. under that skin is a muscles which flows around the arm bone.. when u wanna draw this arm u should know which muscle defines which form and which line
this takes a while but it gives u guarantee ! patience is another important thing
so : keep the third dimension in ur mind
: draw boxes cubes and cylinders
: i can share some more tips with you via msn icq irc if u r intrested
icq : 126938183
msn : [email protected]
we can choose a thing we draw.. ..we draw - we scan and see how and where to improve what .see what kinda mistakes we made and how to solve them before we do them again and again... will help us both to improve our skill 4 sure
cya there
keep drawing !

Sideshow already gave voice to what I was planning on saying. Take that skeleton and put it to life. Apply what you've been learning to dynamic figures in action. Things are looking great, but I think it's time for the pay-off, so to speak.
Great work. Keep it up!

Out of curiosity.. is it wrong to draw off a book from lets say Loomis? hmmm another qns: is it wrong to keep drawing the same pose like what i did above? pls share your comments. thanks will post real soon
no..its not that bad.. but u shoul keep it in ur awareness that u have to improve.. and not only draw and doodle around..
when i practice... example.. atm i am practicing profiles and heads.. i draw .. 120 profiles on each page.. and iam trying to improve.. or to solve the mistakes i made in the profile before
loomis is good but a important thing for body drawing is anatomy knowledge.. muscle bones etc this helps u visualizing the flesh and skin.. u also see the muscles which define the body outlines
when u practice ur pose again and again.. keep perspectiv and symmetrie in ur mind too
some anatomy books help too ... + patience + papers and pencils = g00d chance to improve
k€€p it ****
dont let us wait .. post some cool pics soon !

hey sideshowbob, thanks for your help.. its nice to know that there are people out there willng to help each other to improve.. mm i have added u into my msn list and well i hope to improve in time to come. sadly my scanner has jus played out on me so i cant scan what i drew.... sorry
Remember to use the stuff you learn from the book to help you with your imagination drawing, it's vital. Keep working at it.

ur pose-dynamic is bit better now.. small but good progress
think about ur body and how its setup.. supdevide it in cylinders and cube-kinda geometrie..*upper arm = cylinder lower arm = cylinder hand part = cube .. fingers : 3 cylinders or cubes.. ur choise.. i took cubes first to draw fingers ....* then think about foreshortening
keep it **** !!![]()

the last pic.. : c00l dynmic and perspectiv falloff
when u trained anatomy and perspeciv drawing untill .. somekinda perfection these "types" of drawing own!
it will be easiert to draw these after u had some cube and cylindrical practice
i should reinstall msn s00n
cya there !
nice progress..
ur feeling for poses is way better then mine.
but try to keep the proportions in your mind while drawing.
feel the pressure
keep up the good work.. just draw. u'll get there.. keep drawing as much as u can
and don't forget to draw what u feel/see not what u think
keep the thing u see yours.. don't copy (only fo this if u want to learn some concepts or styles or something)
hey sideshowbob thanks for your support. my scanner is killing me by not scanning haha.. so its kinda hard to scan my work often. thou i keep drawing n drawing bit by bit. i feel that im not that confident with posing and most of them are taken off refs.. i def need more prac with that. hmm cubes and cylinders.. ok ill see what i can do with that. do u follow MR Loomis's book or wad? im just curious. to me its kinda hard to rem all that 8 heads or 7 plus heads when it comes to posing. do u do that? hmmm i still feel that i have a lot to work on..
"Do you know?" : i tried drawing a woman off a mag ref but i failed terribly when it came to the face.. what ever face i draw it would look jus like a man!! someone pull my freaking mind and put me right!!!!
dude get ur msn up asap haha.. i got lots to talk about..
wi_2- wassup man.. thanks for your comments. na dun say that because im still learning and ripping off references and such.. i have yet to have a mind of my own to draw jus from my head.. and yeah my proportions need more improvement. yes i have to keep drawing.. hmm looking forward to putting up my works and hope to see improvement in myselfpeace and thanks for supporting
![]()
well well
ok.. just draw..
reference is good.. real good. u learn the feeling of things from them if u do it right, just drawing what u see and making a perfect copy is useless.
if u draw form reference.. then do it right. u must always ask why u should put down that line on that spot.
don't draw the lines but build the forms, 'use' line to build the forms
try to feel the mass, (maybe draw some 3d contours.. like a wire laying over the object. or a crossection line, get the point?)
when u get this. lighting will come much easier..
the more u do this the more u 'feel' and soon will see why ur female heads look so male. (a hint, females are soft, roundish ; males far more rough, hard edges, corners, big, sharp convex and concave shapes.
the way i see it is that u must know emotion, then comes mass, lighting, texture, cool looking funky stuff.
it's pretty easy to learn, but you do have to do it.
keep practicing, keep drawing, keep trying, keep learning.
if u get stuck, just stop and think why. bad perspective? flat?
are u thinking when drawing or just playing around with the 'knowledge' u have? are u learning or doing?
try to keep at least some focus.. not to much. stay loose.. but stay focused.
and always and forever ask why.
DRAW DRAW DRAW DRAW!!!!!
edit
oh.. and use simple shapes like a ball or box or planes.. as long as u think in mass it'll be ok whatever shape u might invent
edit
this is jus some updates lately.. ill keep drawing.. note the women with out faces.. yeah i cant do it yet.. but ill work on it.. try to put tt face in time...
i know this one is not really good... ill keep working on it... WIP.
i quite like the last one coz its... well Cindy lee from Fhm hah she's a sweetie.... really go find tt mag n take a look ya... im sure u'd agree with me too
NOTE: i know the mistakes i made, the hands, the right leg is off.. ill put it as WIP ok... try my best to improve it... pls be understanding. thanks
oh btw i jus realised that i drew my eyes too high!! haha... hmm ive adjusted it and well i hope to draw more improved ones in due timepeace

I see that you're enjoying yourself... keep to it and you will find it!I could see you improving by leaps and bounds. It is good to draw from reference. Yah. If you dun have a live model to draw from. Dun be dismay if you dun get it at first. Keep trying like what you just did!! I will wait to see more!!

a fren told me this:
is not well done.. a lot of repeative mistakes, u r practicing all the mistakes. not up to standard. try to compare to something like references or else u will end up drawing the mistake over and over again without realising it. head is too small... thats the most obvious mistake.
i guess its kinda a wake up call... haiz got to brush up... or else... ill be drawing the same mistakes...
note: the more i talk to ppl the more i see the mistakes... thanks guys for pointing it out... ill change it..

its chaos but the imrovement kicks ass !
ur doing very well.. but the thing is .. ur not aware of ur stuff
but u will soon !
u do mistakes all the time.. until u REALIZE what u are doing.. u realize that ur doing mistakes.. realisation is all u need.. only because u are aware of it u can start on avoiding and solving ur problems
i had lotsa problems with proportions earlier.. then i started to make my own measure system *imaginary lines...*
when i drraw upper body with head and arms... i try to chek how many arm-lengst i can put into my chest-.. how many head-width i can put in my chest * front view*
when i place eyes in the head.. first i take reference *soon u dont need any ref cauz u can easy aquire the proportions better then now*
draw imaginary lines to measure ur head proportions... see how big ur eye is and how much head u have below and on top of ur eye.. do same for the nose.. for mouth and all things u see in ur face
also do this for diffrent views ... when u start : front and side*profilke view should be enough
be aware of the heads 3DDDness here !
when u have problems with propoirtions.. focus on one face part at once.. its what i did and what iam still doing...i
draw a circle or a -> 0 <- this is ur simplified head... *be awareo f a psheres 3dness here too* now place ur face part.. nose lips eyes.. whatever u want.. then place the rest.. when u think it looks bad.. change the proportions for the part u focus on... make it bigger and smaller.. and see how it behaves... the result u see change.. the emition u see changes 2
its easier to get 1 thing right when u made 2 things wrong : one bigger one smaller.. according to these two u can see its size that fits better
share ur cube with ur face.. each part of ur face is a part of a cube... ur jaw chin zygomatic bone forehead.. eyebrow part inner eye part...
compare the size of ur face parts with eachother and see how they fit to eachother.. observe oopls faces.. and see how they change.. dont focus on their characteristics.. focus in their changing proportions * which are characteristics but.. u can do that later*
some of them have mor courved lips.. others have mor solid lips.. bigger noses smaler noses
more flat noses more spiky... fatter smaller forehead...
play around with the size of ur inner face parts * nose lips eyes brow things etc* change them and change their placement too.. move it bit up and down
pay attention on these things u change and see how it behaves
..biot chaotic explanation
ill scan some pages for u when we see on msn again
good work dude !!!![]()
u know how to keep it *****![]()

well this is my first try at a woman.. face is self drawn... looks rather manish haha... ill keep drawin women n see how ill go from here.. nways hope u like it. i tried to have tt long slim arm no muscle type.. looks a bit off but i hope its ok... enjoy
ps: ill be adding more women pics daily... yeah it was a challenge by a fren of
mine... to draw 1 woman everyday.. wow.. tts like 365 women in a year!!
![]()
Lots of improvement going on. By the way, she does look like a woman. She looks like a rather angry woman.
I'd recommend trying some rounder eyes for the woman. And, with the nose and otherwise, think soft, not hard edged.
Well done. Keep up the one a day.
